Jeep i feel still has the most user friendly build online. recently i did a few builds on Ford just to see the prices, and they got way to much going on there. way too many options as things are not bundled and every time i clicked on something it was incompatiable with something else removing options etc. oh by the way to do a bronco similar to my jeep it was 91k and for a ford raptor it was 110k lol hell na.

If one usually buys their vehicles highly optioned, the bundling may be a money saver. For everybody else, you are forced into things you really did not want and even though a lower bundled savings, you are still paying for it.

Bundling saves the manufacturer more money in less logistical and labor costs rather than being a value passed on to the customer.

I have to admit I liked the À la carte optioning when I spec'd out and ordered my 2020 Rubicon. When I bought my 2022 Rubicon, bundling already forced me into $4K + more into things I did not want and now came standard.
I am going to miss the option to pay for a 240a alternator 3x!

Sounds like Stellantis just learned about 6s concepts lol. If anything streamlining operations will help Jeep with build quality issues. In an ideal world this should translate to lower production cost, but I doubt we will see that on the consumer end.
They only thing that Stellantis streamlined-- is how to take your money faster, 27 percent price increase from 2021-2023, apples to apples product!!!

The main bummer for me when ordering my 2024 Gladiator was I had to get the X to get painted fenders. I settled for the black fenders because I prefer the soft top. I would have also liked to have been able to add the power seats but that is also only on the X.

They may start bundling more but I don't think they will walk away from or reduce "personal custom orders". Especially as some states prepare (long way off) to not allow some wranglers to arrive to lots without an order ( California, Delaware, more???). But you never know, we have not seen changes in how they do business in 50 years........

Jeep will sell a ton more aux switches with it being packaged with the tow package and a lot more bluetooth speakers / trail cams since they are packaged with the Alpine radio.

I am hoping that the packages will be cheaper than buying them individually. Like the tow package with the aux switches together will be cheaper than optioning them individually.

I went to order rubicon over the weekend and unfortunately have to get the X for some options I really want not that big of a deal I guess.
I didn’t order as they said they didn’t have an actually price yet and couldn’t see ordering a truck without knowing price…..

was your dealer able to give youprice when you ordered?

No, I just ordered with no price yet. He is supposed to let me know when the pricing comes in so I can go in and do the deal. It was easy to add options when they were all $0 ?

I knew the X would be quite a bit more just by looking at the 24 Wrangler and Wrangler X and I didnt want a hard top so I just optioned it the way I wanted but wasnt able to get painted fenders or power seats.

makes sense. Since they aren’t building them yet I’m gonna hold off placing the order.
I looked at the wranglers and built one pretty loaded and compared to the wrangler X and price was pretty close so I’m hoping 2024 price increase aside the gladiator X won’t be terrible over a loaded rubicon so to speak.

Here are the options that I didn't get that the X has standard and their 2023 prices:

Leather Seats - $1,995
Painted Flares - $995
Painted Hardtop - $2,895
Full time T case - $895

So I figured I saved almost $7,000 this way but we will see. Like you said, hard to tell without prices.

Have yall every went on Toyota's website and built a Tacoma? It is so confusing. They have around 20 packages that are all similar except one thing here and there. I do prefer the way Jeep has done it and these new packages take away from that some but not as confusing and jumbled as Toyota, and Chevy too for that matter. I have never built a car on Ford, etc.
I do agree. When I built my Jeep I started at the bottom and chose my packages since that altered some single items. Then I went up and touched it up with the single items I needed. Was quick. When I built some truck, like the Tacoma it gets too cumbersome. I guess though the RAM 2500 is the same way. Too much work in building it!!!

Hoping they release the prices in the next week or so.

i think one positive to this is if you want the items and they are in a package, they won’t be able to remove the individual items. Last time i had a build I chose everything and submitted it but then there was a list of parts that weren’t available.

Hopefully by the end of next week.
however with the strike it’s not like they are building now anyhow lol.

Agree I’m curious how this will affect production start dates. Will they move back or cancel 23’s that aren’t on the line by x date.

also how much of a delay will it be to fire up these furnaces and get these parts produced again.
