Sound bar speaker upgrade!

The 2024s are different from previous years.

This is what I used.

Once the speakers were removed, I installed the 4" coaxial speaker using a Metra plug and play adapter.

I needed to remove one mounting tab, and shorten another one to allow the speaker to fit. None of the holes lined up so I used 3 self-tapping screws.

The adapter looked like it had a polarity issue to me. After testing and checking, the polarity is correct.

The little dome tweeter was a bit more difficult. The tweeter came with a variety of mounting brackets. I used the one pictured below, modifying into a simple flush mount. Then I used a hole saw to make a hole in the mounting adapter, supplied by Crutchfield, to mount the flush mount bracket to. I used glue to secure it.

Then it was just a matter of wiring up the Metra adapter and stuffing all the wiring and crossover behind the mounting adapter.

Coupled with the new speakers in the dash, it sounds great!

On the tweeter mounts any reason you went with the flush mount vs the directional?

So you think the rubi is just front lockers and sway bar disconnect.... and you think you'll be doing so much jumping that the actually minimal reinforcement on certain Frame parts will negate the frame designed for crawling, and oh ya, the my rubi came with the same steering knuckles the mojave did, oh and the rubi can be lifted and shocked changed and it's still a rubi, unlike the mojave when it's lifted and the shoks changed it becomes an expensive sport S and you enjoy that gearin on a desent lift.... but cool you do you slick....
Not a wrong statement in this but if he wants lower quality that’s ok for him

I completed the same installation in my vehicle today, and the sound is noticeably cleaner and clearer. Have you considered upgrading the lower dash speakers as well? I’m wondering if replacing them with 6 1/2" speakers would enhance the midbass.

Actually yes, the gas rubi has cast knuckles, the mojave and diesel rubi have forged knuckles
This is the first I've seen about this. Can you point me towards more info so I can double check and make sure my 22JTRD has forged knuckles also.
I know a magnet will stick, but I thought they were just cast iron.

My wife's 21JLURD has the cast aluminum knuckles and at some point I'd like to switch them out. If my JT knuckles are forged, I wouldn't mind getting the same ones for her Wrangler. Keep fleet standards that way.

Motor Trend said:
So, to recap, the Rubicon package's front axle is the wide-track third-gen Dana 44 front with 10mm axle tubes, aluminum steering knuckles, 4.10 gears, and Tru-Lok electric locking differential. The Mojave package's front axle is the wide-track third-gen Dana 44 front with 10mm axle tubes, cast-iron steering knuckles, 4.10 gears, and an open differential. And both the Rubicon and Mojave packages' rear axles are the same third-gen Dana 44s with 4.10 gears and Tru-Lok electric locking differential.

No where does that say forged knuckles for any of the Gladiators. It says aluminum for the Rubicon and cast iron for the Mohave.
There is a difference between forged and cast. Forged is stronger than cast as long of base material is same/similar. Cast iron is gonna be better than cast aluminum.
Article doesn't say cast aluminum, but I'm pretty sure everybody agrees the aluminum knuckles are cast.
There is a lot of nice info in that article, as long as it's all correct.

Certainly, but nowhere in the linked article did it mention forged vs cast aluminum. Just that there's aluminum on Rubicons and cast iron on Mojave.

I ran the question through Grok AI before I posted it. MT and a couple others were sourced for the answer and all had similar if not nearly identical info.

I have had my 2024 Mojave for 5 days so it's time to start my build journal.

Right now, some parts are at the off-road shop (35s, wheels, SmartCap, winch, AEV lift), some are on the shelf, and some are on a truck somewhere.

Eventually, in addition to all the other mods, it will have front lockers and sway bar disconnects, making it a Mojavicon. :)

At birth:

Crystal Granite
Auto trans
Spray in bed liner
Mopar slush mats

Running Mod List - I will update as I complete mods (hopefully).

Locking Hood Latches - Rugged Ridge ✅
Hood Struts - Redline Tuning ✅
Hood Protector / Bug Deflector - Bushwacker ✅
Under Hood Lighting - KC Cyclone

Tires - Nitto 35X11.50R17
RSI SmartCap
Front Bumper Shackles / Hook Delete - HK Offroad
Winch - Warn Zeon 10S
I'm doing a Rubijave. Just installed Mojave shocks on my Rubicon. Also added a 1" Teraflex front spacer.
