I am now on my 4th Gladiator.....
I am sick of paying 60-70k for jeeps!
Blink twice if someone is forcing you to keep going more and more underwater in debt.

Or if that's not the case, maybe start a foundation where instead of buying your annual gladiator you fund someone else's build every other year. You could be the Mr. Beast of the Jeep community.

Not Cool. Third party is just going to push the price up. IF it gets done, we need it done at the factory to be affordable and warrantied, in my humble opinion.
Price increase, certainly.

But there is plenty of precedent for factory-sanctioned aftermarket shops doing mod work, especially in the Jeep world.

AEV did Brute conversions off the TJ and JK that could be ordered from authorized dealers. They still carried warranties. Current AEV Ram Prospectors can be ordered from AEV authorized CDJR dealers.

The 5.7 + the 6 speed would be  6th would actually be capable of maintaining speed without digging into the throttle.

RIP manual JT
Not
Jeep is already planning on a hybrid version this year. I doubt they would invest in a V8 version when things are already more compact and efficient. Listen, I wished they did a V8 with a 6 speed, that would be amazing. The reality is that it's a mid-size pickup, the mpg of a V8 would not meet regulations (as you mentioned) and the JT is currently preforming poorly in its market segment.
New EPA has already began the process of rolling back a lot of emissions regulations and those CAFE soy standards lol. People say JT are preforming poorly but from what i see with the eye test when these things are priced right they have been moving. Q2 results i suspect will show an uptick in sales.

Federal, yes. But many states (including mine) have adopted CARB standards and those haven't changed to the benefit of the industry-yet.

Should CARB change anything, those states most likely have trigger laws that will enact them automatically like mine.

when the JT first came out it was doing awesme in sales, around 75k vehicles a year. Lately its been around 50-55k vehicles a year. A lot of that is due to higher interest and we are now finally seeing the excessive markups on them coming down too. I'm hopeful because i think the JT is a hell of a truck, thats why i choose it over any other mid-size truck. (mainly for the manual trans haha)

I just dont want to get hopes up for a V8 and be let down

I doubt Jeep/FCA/STLA had any designs on the JT being a Tacoma-slayer but did expect relatively consistent sales. It peaked in 2021 with 89K sold.

Without beating the horse STLA missed the mark by not keeping it competitive with others in the class and the sales numbers speak loudly.

In 2024, Jeep moved 44K JTs.

Toyota sold 192K Tacomas without the two halo models being available until late in the year.

GM sold 44k of the twins in just Q1/Q2 2024 with a stop sale order in the beginning of the year.

thanks for the numbers, I was going based on rough memory when I put together a market study for my SBA 7 loan. I do agree STLA really missed out on a huge opportunity with the JT. Any time I'm on a trail and see a Taco they always chat about the limitations of their rig, and high performance shock availability (3.0s not yet available for Tacos, but in development for 2024+ models since they are now a coil rear suspension)

Speaking of coiled rear suspension, I believe the JT was first to do that in the new models. Tacos started that in 2024, and the new ranger that came out did that (with the watts linkage), but that was after the JT (per my memory). Though the watts linkage does limit wheel travel more than a track bar....or in my case the Pro-x upgrade ha

We are in the niche market for sure. 50-55K Trucks a years is still very good for a niche truck. FCA needs to control supply, correct pricing and provide the market with upgrades that people really want not just a big screen, window antenna, grill and nicer cloth seats. Jeep how about fixing your damm MT issues and put in a real clutch. Give us 4:56 gears from factory like the wranglers get. Full 4x4 option should be standard by now on all trims.

But I do understand and i share your sentiment. After having purchase three gladiators i don't wont to be let down and i am sick of Jeep treating us like the black sheep. Wranglers get all the R&D money and upgrades. Its about time that turns arounds.

In 2019 at launch, Sergio Marchionne then FCA CEO, said the Gladiator sales goals were 75K a year with second line they were built on in Toledo only had capacity for 100K max per year.

They knew the Gladiator would never come close to Tacoma numbers or take any significant market share from Toyota with it.

Sergio also said it was to be a "upscale market" vehicle.

This is something that I find so odd as to why they don’t do that. It’d be the same parts even 🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately your right but lets see the outcome of the supreme court decision with Cali on emissions standards. I live in NY which ranks 2nd or 3rd behind Cali on emissions policies and follows everything they do. But i will not talk politics because we still have people who will get easily triggered and censor the tread.

Quick Update: Youtuber Jason Samko posted a video on a Mopar insider article confirming 5.7 Hemi return to ram. TK Garage broke this news a few months back and so far he has been right on most things.

So full size Rams are going to turbo V6, and Gladiator is going V8? I don't believe it. It should have been done out of the gate in 2020. If they want to help with sales, maybe Stellantis can lower the price on their products. These are not Range Rovers or Bens G Wagons. Stop pricing them as such.
