So I am in the market for a sunrider for my 2024 JT. I know that the JL and JT tops are interchangeable. Well apparently the sunriders aren’t. 24+ received side curtain airbags. I went to put on a top from a 2021 wrangler and it didn’t fit. I then found one on marketplace for a 2022 gladiator and again didn’t line up for the bolt holes. Anyone else experience this?? I’ve emailed bestop yesterday but figured I’d post and ask here.

Yeah, I wondered about that. Bestop's site doesn't seem to have a separate item for 2024+.

I just checked Bestop website, its shows compatible with Jeep Gladiator 2020-2025.
Also when you plug in year, make, and model it shows pricing and options.

Right, but it shows the same SKU for a 2023 Gladiator as a 24 or 25. and based on the changes implemented in 2024 for the curtain airbags sounds like it doesn't fit.

I have a sunrider that I swapped from a 2019 JLU, to my 2022 gladiator, and it’s now on a 2024 JL 2-door. I haven’t had any issues swapping it around & mounting. The Side curtain bags still have the same 2 bolt holes that my Gladi has to mount the Sunrider.

I don’t recall having to do anything special. I can take a look tomorrow to see if there is anything unique.

Hey Bestop!!

I take my hardtop off often….. Can you make a ‘soft’ version of our Freedom Panels? Quick & easy on/off……. Like the freedom panels, but would weight much less.

The Sunrider is neat….. just not something I want to install or un-install everytime I want to take the hardtop off.
Thanks!

What do you do for the rear bracket? The soundbar trim is different. Looks like it blocks access to the two screws.
It still fits the same. I have a sunrider that I move between a 21 and 24 and have no problems with fitment.

I took a Sunrider from my 2021 Gladiator, and installed it on a 2024 Wrangler...no problems with installation. I then bought a new Sunrider (2024) and installed it on the Gladiator...once again, no problem.

Just a thought (always acknowledging you do what's right for you) ...but for me, I took the freedom panels off both my Gladiator and Wrangler, installed Sunriders, and the freedom panels have never left my basement! I find the Sunrider works fine year round. No need to install or un-install.

You are right. I was looking at the newer trim on the speaker bar and thinking it doesn't have the notch any more. I went and looked again and realized the bracket sits higher up and screws to the top itself.... Not the bar. 🤦 I haven't actually tried to put the top on yet. I'm waiting for the Hot Heads headliner for it.

Over the summer, we take the hard top off (and back on) often……

From what I understand, the Sunrider needs to be totally removed before you can take the hard top off. It’s much easier and faster just to take the freedom panels off.

If the Sunrider could stay in place …. while you take the hard top off …. I’d probably already own one. ☺
