Thank you. That's actually very interesting and I can definitely see his point to do so.Outstanding. That's some fine shooting.
Well done, young man.
The last time I had to shoot to qualify, the instructor, a police sergeant, took our targets, trashed them and only gave us a pass or fail. No scores.
His rationale was that in civil court if the defendant was shown to be an expert marksman, why shoot 9 times? Why not shoot to wound? By the same token, modifying a carry weapon was also discouraged.
There may not be criminal charges, but it's the civil court that can bite a defendant in the butt. His poor mother, "he was a good boy", the grieving baby-momma, tears, yada yada.
In 1996, getting a CHL in Texas required fingerprinting, background check, time in a classroom and shooting to qualify. Over the years they discontinued the shooting and then the training and finally the license. It's open carry.
However, while Texans can now carry handguns without a license in most public places thanks to the constitutional carry law, obtaining a Texas License to Carry (LTC) can still be beneficial for several reasons, including reciprocal carry rights, easier firearm purchases, and specific locations where an LTC is required.
This may be more information than anyone wants to know. Be safe out there everyone.

Something along with that I got told by a buddy of mine early in my time as a cop. It's really soaked in during training with other officers with simunitions especially to find various blue simunitions marks... Along with showing me there was more than a few who I never wanted in a stack with me.Outstanding. That's some fine shooting.

compete here and there. I just use my Glock 19x or G45, both with red dots. Also, occasionally my cz shadow 2 fI’ll size. Using the correct power factor rounds will also help with follow up shots.Bringing this back up from the dead….
Any of ya’ll shoot competitively? Or at least….dabble in competitive type drills?
I’m giving my carry piece a rest (Shield Plus 3.1), been shooting that every weekend for months (probably 2,000 rounds or more). Looking for something a little easier to acquire my 2nd shots….and go faster. Not necessarily looking to compete, but…it looks fun as hell.
Anyone have an M&P Metal Carry Comp (4.25” barrel, 28ounces) ported barrel?
Or the 2.0 Competitor (5” barrel, 29ounces) ported barrel?
