Compared to most of the other problems I have seen here, this is pretty trivial. But hey, it's rainy here today and killing a little time on the forum. By the way, we are really happy with our Gladiator!!
Since new last year, there has been a ticking/clicking noise as the HVAC system settles down. Sounds like mostly in the dash area. Once the temp is arrived at and the system settles down the clicks are pretty rare. The dealer did the first step of replacing the Driver's blend door actuator, but that did not help. Looking through the service manual, there are multiple doors and actuators to direct the air flow. The next step would require full removal of the dash. I did watch a video on this, and it does not look like a fun project.
Questions for the forum:
Is a little clicking common for Jeep HVAC? Does yours? If my memory is correct, the other one I test drove did the same.
Would you go thru dash removal to try to fix it? I really wonder if they could remove/replace all the components without some damage. I have a secondary thought that they might replace all the parts and it would still click.
An alternative fix is to just put on Robin Trower and/or Stevie Ray Vaughn and crank it up a bit . . . Hey, it is a Jeep after all!
