Aux panel buttons. Talk to me like I'm stupid.

2020 Sport S. From my understanding, the power wires for the aux buttons is somewhere under the dash. Right? so if I buy a set of buttons I can use those wires to power lights or other equipment. So where do the wires terminate from the switch? Seriously, Im not understanding how these switches work. Ive wired plenty of accessories in vehicles over the years, recently installed heated seats, a brake controller, GMRS radio and a spare USB charge in the Jeep but these Aux switches have me scratching my head.

That sucks. I have the AUX switches, optioned in as new, but for those that don't, that is bad news.

I would have guessed that it was part of a standardized main harness. And just the actual switches weren't there.

Some of the harness is standardized, but the harness is laid out for each truck based on the options ordered.

The Aux Switches are just on/off toggles that connect through the CAN BUS. They control relays with fused circuits under the hood. They are integrated with the computer and can be configured through the head unit.

There is a dealer installable set of Aux Switches, but it requires a wire bundle to be pulled through the firewall, and doesn't include the two hot wires that are there with the factory installed Switches.

Here is my experience and opinion.

A simple and better solution for aux switches is to get the aux switches setup from Lasfit. They look factory and they have their own fusebox. That eliminates you from having to interfere with the stock fusebox and still have switches that look factory. And most that are adding the factory aux switches and wiring harness are having to enable the option within the PCM. With Lasfit, you don't have to do that.

My Jeep came with the factory aux switches, but not the locker switches. So, when I installed lockers, I needed switches. I bought the Lasfit setup for the left side which gave me the locker switches and two extra switches.

And they have them for both left and right sides.

Ahhhh.... You have a MT. Ouch! Can't help with the Lasfit. Sorry about that.

If you are okay with a "not OE" look, check out Switchpros. It's a solid state system (no relays or fuses) that's potted in epoxy in a CNC machined housing - so 100% water proof. It needs power going in and a single data cable run into the cab for the programmable control unit.
