With every car I’ve bought in California the dealer never offered the manufacturer warranty. They charge $5-$6 K for third party. Big profit item. I refused on my JT and got the Mopar Max Care for 1/3.

Can you share where you purchased it?With every car I’ve bought in California the dealer never offered the manufacturer warranty. They charge $5-$6 K for third party. Big profit item. I refused on my JT and got the Mopar Max Care for 1/3.
Can you share where you purchased it?
Thank you
In Cali and some other states you can't buy Max Care on line. Long story about why. Try calling Mopar 800-442-2666 or 800-521-9922. I got Max Care last July by calling. Can you share where you purchased it?
Thank you
They're on my short list. Thanks. When I bought my 2024 new the finance manager didn’t want to sell me the Mopar warranty. Proposed the Assurant warranty. I rarely buy warranties, but with all the electronic failure modes in new vehicles and so many warranties covering only mechanical failures, I opted for it. Price was right. I rarely travel outside of NC, so I figure I’ll be getting service at the same dealer where I bought the the vehicle and the warranty so I assume I’ll not have issues with them honoring the warranty.
I called a friend who was formerly in the business of “adjudicating” vehicle warranty claims. He said if he was buying a warranty, he would be Assurant. I hope I never need it, regardless.
All good points. We're out of warranty, so it's a Go-NoGo decision. thanks for the inputs.I haven’t had an extended warranty on my last two vehicles - and didn’t need it.
I’m still on 3/36.
For what its worth…
Don’t buy an extended warranty while you’re still under the factory 3/36. Buy it when your 3/36 is about to expire. Remember…your Jeep also has 5/60 on the drivetrain. The point….. Keep your money in YOUR bank account (invest it) …… Don’t give it to them until you have to. Avoid paying for something that you won’t even use until after the 3/36 is expired.
You really need to do a deep dive into the fine print and learn exactly what’s covered and what’s not. Research each 3rd party company or OEM for reviews and customer feedback.
How much is this going to cost and for how long?
Of everything that’s covered - what would it cost you in parts/labor to fix it without warranty? Could you buy parts and fix it yourself (or local garage)? What are the chances these ‘bigger’ failures would occur?
Sure… it’s peace of mind…. OR…. You decide to take that gamble & hope you never need any repairs at all ….and/OR….. you’re happy with finding ways to get it fixed yourself.
