Hello All,

I'm looking for those of you who may have finally exceeded the 3yr 36k mile factory warranty and are using a Mopar extended warranty. They seem to be very specific about your Jeep being lifted or not and even note this option in the warranty should you have a 2" Mopar lift.

Has anyone been denied warranty service under this program? If so what dealer or city/state?

Had anyone successfully used the extended warranty on a lifted Jeep to cover something NOT modified? Axle housing leak, engine issue, fuel pump, radio, Ect....

I purchased my warranty when stock, but have added a 2" lift (actually only 2" where mopar seems to net much more) and want to know if I'll be denied service on non lift related components. Also only running 35's to ensure warranty compliance as well.

There is usually a surcharge for a lifted truck usually 250/500. Some are 2” lift with no more than 35 - forget the brodcures and read the contract it will give you the details.

Has to be the MOPAR lift and dealer installed. Anything else is not covered.

FWIW i was looking at an extended warranty from some of the folks that are sponsors on this forum. i explained my installed alterations and from where the various parts came from. one gentleman sponsor, with a little pressing, said no to some of the coverage. i was impressed. i thanked him for his honesty and left happy.

They have the right to decide what's covered and how since it's not a WARRANTY!
It's a service contract, and nothing to do with Stellantis proper.
SERVICE contracts are NOT warranties, there's no real "extended warranty" per se.

And frankly, if I was "insuring" a Jeep, which is sort of what they are doing - I'd be picky as hell, too, seeing some of the crap I've seen over the years. People toss in parts and then bitch if there's a wobble or some other weird issue and complain about Jeep.

It's a SERVICE CONTRACT - They write it - you either agree and pay or walk - you're call, and frankly, if you have a frankenjeep - they'd rather you walk.

Only the original warranty is truly a warranty.

Blue Ox, Car Shield, that other stuff- NOT WARRANTIES and I wish they'd stop calling them that in the commercials.

It's closer to an insurance policy than a warranty.

The big difference is that Stellantis actually does back and administer their "extended warranties", but it's still more like an insurance policy.

You are paying for it, it's not like the factory saying "we warrant this product will work", it's "if it breaks, we'll cover it - but we hope it doesn't so we can keep your money"

Hope , yeah hoping they trust their product .. Really honestly I aint never had a vehicle that something didn't occur . Just grew up in the 70's and 80's lots of Jeep,Ford and Chrysler products.. I remember doing a lifter replacement on a 318 in the driveway , new head gaskets valve grinding job and intake gaskets valley gaskets etc.. or a bearing replacement on an old ford or a clutch job on a Ford tractor, wheel bearings kingpins etc... Heck there was always vehicle work of some type Dad even owned his own large international truck and one of the tractors was diesel ( which wasn't real prevalent in our area in those days) I practically grew up wrenching so I just always did it. So I really dont count on warranties too much. Dad never had any warranties. It was called ...Get to sleep cause we got a big mechanic job tomorrow 😂

To do what? Explain what someone agreed to when they signed up for the extended warranty (Service Contract)?

The house always has the odds in their favor. To some degree though, we the consumers are culpable in this transaction by never reading the legalese and fine details in what we are signing and then being pissed after the fact those finer details are then enforced.

…extended warranties, one of their highest margin transactions in the business.
When I pressed the F&I guy on my second new Glad purchase in a year on why they prefer to sell after-market warranties he told me an interesting story. The short version being, the way Rick Hendrick bought car dealerships (95) was from the profits generated from service contract sales.

I started getting "final notices" that my 2025's factory warranty was about to run out one month after I bought it.
