Right. My ‘24 Rubicon X had it disappear a week ago and the it came back a couple days ago. When it disappears again I’ll try the tip mentioned by Cyberhero in post #126.
It works. Did this on my 24 Mojave X and it worked perfectly.

Surprisingly….mine (2024) has been in place for months so far….(knock on wood) and I have no idea why.

The only thing I can think of…… Back in March/April I had removed the Taser for yearly inspection (at the dealership). Dealership installed some updates (tranny & something else drive train related). I re-installed the Taser (the complex process that it can be)…..

Who knows? The fact the electronics were ‘messed with’ and my Taser Re-install….
KNOCK ON WOOD!!

My '24 has lost the instant mpg display a couple times since November. It is currently missing. A couple days ago, I reset the tripometer on the next screen and went back to the fuel economy display. Now page A is also missing the remaining range readout, but page B still has it.

With issues like this and a flaky stereo that likes to replace preset stations, some days I really question if it would have been better to lease it or buy another Colorado instead.

Do Gladiators tell you that bulbs are burned out, even if they aren't? I saw a lot of complaints about that on the Compass and Renegade sites.
I don’t get bulb indicators, but I do have an altimeter that mostly reads about 100 feet low. I realize that isn’t a big thing but I live close to the coast and it shows me below sea level. When I first brought the truck home in February it was spot on? On a recent trip along the coast I saw it flipping between accurate and ~100 feet low.
I haven’t tried the trip meter yet. Kinda scared to after your experience.

Thats interesting, as I live about two or so miles from the ocean my altimeter always reads between -60 and -90 feet. I havent been paying much attention to it but will more to see if it ever fluctuates.

By the way my tripmeter has always worked perfectly, both a and b modes so at least there's that lol.

I did notice the other day that the radio did not turn off when I shut the truck off and opened the door. I shut the door and when I reopened it the radio turned off. Another weird thing is my key fob is periodically not detected when attempting passive entry. Then once I’ve hit the unlock button and climbed in the dash says key fob not detected. I hold the key up to the start button and hit the start button and everything is fine.
I’m not sure if any of these problems (altimeter, key fob not being detected, radio not turning off, annnd the instant mileage disappearing) are related though.
I have noticed that the key fob not being detected cures itself if I just wait for a while (an hour or two??). Because of that it makes me think it is software related.

EDIT: A new battery in the key fob had no effect. I also checked the connector behind the glove box and didn’t find any loose cables.

I have not had either of these issues happen to me thankfully, does sound like something software is screwing up. I see you tried a new battery which was my first thought, have you tried switching to the other fob for a while to see if you possibly have a bad fob. Probably unlikely, but it should be unlikely to have all these weird problems on new vehicles too this day and age but here we are.

Yes, I tried the other fob too. The weird thing is it seems to fix itself if I just leave it alone for an hour or two. If I hit the unlock button on the fob and drive wherever, the passive entry works fine on exit and re-entry.
The fixing itself makes me think it’s software related for sure though.

Go to the main screen that normally has it on there, if it is showing distance to empty under the MPG gauge, scroll over so that is gone and nothing is showing up under the gauge. Now shut it off and wait till everything is off, lights and dash, restart and it should be there. Let me know if it works for you. It has happened to me twice and both times this fixed it
Thank you. That seems to work (at least most of the time). My instant mileage disappeared this morning and I was able to bring it back with your method. It took two attempts but it’s back!

It didn't work on my 2022 - but then after a couple of tries - I said screw it, it will come back, it always does - and it did.
if it happens on my 25, will give it a try on that one.
It's really goofy as if it goes to a very different screen when the one you wants disappears, as if they originally had 3 screens, maybe in prototyping. I've seen it before in OS and driver programing, remnants from other things remain in the final code. You should see some of what I found in some video driver files a few years ago - WOW. That driver programmer was pissed.

Yep, I have noticed a few inconsistent displays. Sometimes things operate smooth, sometimes they have hiccups.

I'll be honest and admit I didnt read all 10 pages, but I think I found another fix. I've had this same issue on and off.

Today I installed a Banks Pedal Monster and before the install left my driver door open for 15 minutes with the truck off (and key fob not near truck) as per instructions. When I finished the install and turned the car back on the instant MPG was visible again.

Next time the issue pops up I'm going to try it again but I'm fairly confident that's what corrected my issue

Please let us know if it fixes it a second time.

I've done this twice in the past two months. Has fixed it every time at least in my 2025.
Weird how this is thing I've had happen more than once in my 2025 but not once in the 50k miles I put on my 2021. Thank you kindly for the fix.

I noticed it happening once I got into remote start season, not once did it happen in the warmer months.

Another vote for this solution. '25 Mojave...lost the instant MPG yesterday while driving the grandkids around. Not sure when I lost it. Read through this thread this morning and followed your fix...worked like a charm.

My 22 was an outlier there - it never worked. Each time, I simply had to wait it out.
