I mean I’m happy for the guys that want a V8 but all I really want is another 50ft/lbs of torque and I’d be happy. No way in hell I’m spending what they invariably will price this at. I mean I’ll go buy a Corvette C8 Z06 if I’m spending over $100k.

I would love an 5.7 hemi or even a Hurricane however I do agree just give me a new diesel with similar TQ and a slight Increase in HP am golden!! A upgraded 3.6 with 20/30 HP & 40/50 TQ bump to round it out between 305 - 320 HP and 300-330 TQ would be awesome for me. Some gearing options 4:56/4:88 and beyond for those extreme builds on upper trims. Jeep needs to step up and show us love

I would love a V8, but my bank accounts say no. I am happy for everyone who wants and can afford to get one though:)

If Jeep builds the 6.4 at that $$$ price point, then Jeep is not listening to their Gladiator customer base. Make the 5.7 and I promise to trade my 3.0 Rubi for one.
100 percent. Put in more power, but with the 5.7. Maybe charge 4 grand more for it.

Most jeepers don't need or want race cars. They want a jeep with more power.

I have the 6.4 in our Challenger. It is too much for simple 4 wheeling.

Stella:

Remember the middle class. 100K Jeeps is greedy.

If you want a niche market, you won't sell many. You did it with the 392 JL.

Put in a smaller v8 at a reasonable price.

Make it a 'normal' upgrade. Not a Grand Cherokee Track Hawk. Not a Super SUV sleeper.

It is a 1/2 ton truck and a small V8 will do you good in the long run.

Remember, Jeep is a lifestyle vehicle. It's already a niche market as far as the JT and JL series. It's not intended for the "masses".

I'd love a house with 3,000 square feet of finished living space and a gardener, too......... but.........

It doesn't have to be.

They can settle for 2nd or 3rd place against Ford and Chevy. And find little ways to make super cars and jeeps to make fast money and make them crazy fast. For 50 grand more.

But the JT could be THE 1/2 ton truck to have. Blow out the Taco, Ranger, and GM stuff.

Stella won't. They could.... But they won't.

Love my 3.0...bun man if the 5.7 refined and was available... Be hard not to trade up if the price was "normal" engine upgrade lkke the diesel was.

With that being said, I feel 6.4 and 100k is crazy. I can buy way fancier and nicer vehicle for that price. Yes the power is cool, but as others said, a niche within a niche isn't going to sell much. The Dakota was offered with the 5.7 and they sold pretty well. As far as new 1/4 ton trucks, maybe the only one out there with v8 option?

Can't have it all. To beat the others or BE LIKE THEM to compete with them (which it really isn't intended to do), it would have to lose a lot of what it has, including personality and the front axle and move to IFS. It would no longer be a Gladiator as we know it.
Can't have it both ways.

My diesel spins the 37s on dry pavement with the stock 3.73 gears. A V8 seems like I wouldn't get any more useable performance, but shit gas mileage.
It'll probably tow 6k like the diesel too.

Wow….5 pages in one day….. 😆 and I only read the first few posts!!

I would’ve bought a V8 if it was available last year…so, you know…I’d be ready to buy one if/when it ever exists.

That’ll certainly keep me in the Jeep arena….versus buying a different midsize truck with those turbo 4’s. Not knocking ‘em…I just don’t want one…. at all!!! 😆
