"Jeep fans, don't worry, the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 will have a home at Jeep,” Borderdorf said. “We will extend the availability of the 392 on Wrangler, and in fact, we will tap the power and performance of the Hemi across Jeep products ... so Wrangler and Gladiator fans and Hemi fans in general, don’t worry."

Reading the road and track article it says 392 in the wrangler is extended, and hemi's across the jeep line up, not necessarily 392s across the jeep line up. Seems like it could be a 392 or a 5.7

Yeah. Even if they become available, I’m not trading mine for a 100k plus do-over from scratch.

From V8’s On The Horizon……..(?) thread:

Can I now say "told you so", or should I wait until we see one in production? 😁
Nice, but seriously, I'd wait until it happens.

I'd bet it happens after a refresh for the JT...... which puts it off a couple of years.
He's opened a door, that's for sure - his quotes make that clear. How wide is that door?
He's trying - let's see how far he can get (meaning the EPA will change in the near future), and who can afford it.

So much for all the naysayers! I’m stoked they’re gonna do this! But at an estimated $100,000 I’m out. I just couldn’t justify it. Fingers crossed for the 5.7!
WHEN? Likely 2028 and a refresh? Takes time to ramp up and get contractors. Heck, they've put off the 4xe JT by about 2 years. How about let's see what happens. He's said "don't worry".

He's said "“Wrangler and Gladiator fans, and Hemi fans in general, don’t worry.”
What's that mean? Well - looks like only the 6.4 - because of this quote -

“We will tap the power and performance of the 6.4-liter V8 across Jeep products,”
Looks like no 5.7 to me.

Get your bank accounts ready. What was the CHEAPEST V8 Wrangler sold in the last 5 years?

Let's; just say, it is looking very promising!
He wants it, and he's opened a door. However, looks like he's limited it to the 6.4?

Give it a couple of years - will take that long to get things ready.

Don't hold your breath. Things can change in 2026 (mid terms) and in 2028.

Politics has a LOT to do with what will be available.

Stellantis still has $7 Billion plus worth of battery plants to justify, and that's just in one State. I don't know what they've done elsewhere.

Yes, and I'd bet that his "change" in plans has to do with the recent change to $0 of the fines involved for CAFE numbers. Since that's a "rule" and not law, it can change in a heartbeat.
He can announce or plan all he wants - he MAY be totally successful and it may well happen, but........... there are many forces working here.
They've struggled to get the JT 4xe going, supplier and other issues - similar will have to line up.

Not saying it can't or won't, but - when? And - it's not as simple as saying "don't worry".

I think we need a page here where those drooling, insisting, begging, asking, and saying they want one really badly have to sign a page stating "if they build it, I will buy it". Talk is cheap.

I'd bet over half of the droolers won't actually buy when this happens.

God I love this, I've seen this over and over, consumers levy complaints or desires about wanting something that serves the enthusiasts out there. Supra drivers complained that the MKV didn't originally launch with a manual, then Toyota gives them a manual option and they complain it doesn't cost less than the AT. Sales were poor and Toyota pulled life support beyond 2026.

Different strokes for different folks but it certainly doesn't help the enthusiast spirit to complain for something you want and don't have, then complain when you've been heard and they offer to give you what you asked for.

IF the 392 JLU costs too much then why does it sell, and of course its not an easy sale, but it sells. Some of us still remember this is a short tour and it aught to be seen and done. Of course a JT will cost a lot with the 392, if that's too much up front, wait a year and snag one with a few thousand miles on it, still under warranty and at a discount of $20-30k. There are 392s with 30-40k miles on them selling for the 50k range out there. I've nearly made the jump a couple times.

Keep complaining and biting at that serving hand and we'll all be back on our way to driverless cars and IFS Wranglers or whatever.

I'm just happy the V8s aren't dead yet.

Do the 5.7 and stay under $75,000.
It's doable.
5.7 Hemi tick is a bomb, lose that cam shaft and typically lose the whole engine.

I wonder what the 392’s tick will sound like
Exhaust manifolds, lol. They get the tick tho, seems like less common than the 5.7 and 3.6.

While we work on complaints about getting a V8 we can also work on dissonance over our complaints of not having options regarding our 3.6 ticks.

The 392 is a better choice than the 5.7 in regards to these issues. But hey, maybe they'll give us that 5.7 and we can get a subforum full of complaints and conjecture over how we know how to fix it.

I've registered with a few forums now reading up on the lifter issues out there, HD rams and 1500 forums. Tick on the 6.4 is not widely reported on the forums, it does happen, but not often. Tick on the 5.7 seems about as frequent or common as it is reported on here.

What is needed are D60/D80 axles a Atlas and a Diesel that makes 350HP 500 Tq.. So axles and the Atlas would be easy to do as far as the diesel just contact VW they can make it happen and it will last.
