It won't Come down off 13.8v.
Charged overnight cleaned everything, 65 miles to worked shut off even to let set for 2 hrs. And it still reading 13.8.
Sounds oddly similar to what I was experiencing. Pull out your aux, tape up the ends, install the box and take note of the aux voltage when pulled vs voltage of the main. (Mine were both the same(ish). Aux was 12.5-6 and the main was sitting at 12.5)

Watch your alternator charge voltage to your main…if it’s not dropping from 13.8v during your whole drives to work and back, your main is the problem.

If doing a complete "let's start over" bit like I did, for example, with my 2020 - charge each battery independently and leave the IBS off the battery and unplugged.
That way it starts over, learns the batteries over again and the current battery state

Not necessary for typical charging or "tenders" -
If charging a battery at any time later, charge through the top of the IBS with it plugged in.

Thank you .
I also think this battery charger tender only chages to 12volts. My previous one charged to 14-15 volts then it slowly brought it back down I had it for about 3 years and it took a giant šŸ’©

That wouldn't be a very good trickle charger. The charger should put out a higher potential than the battery itself. There is a possibility that it is an AGM charger and it is in

If it is an AGM charger as it should be, the voltage will vary during the amperage phase of charging. ShadowsPapa showed a chart for AGM charging on another thread. If you have a standard 12v charger, yes the voltage should be 14v approx. That will cook an AGM battery and will shorten it's life. It should not be used on an AGM battery.

One more thing to add about AGM trickle chargers. Depending on the size of the trickle charger, it could take a couple of days to charge a weak battery.

The one I had would go up in the 14's and then it would work its way back down usually settling around 13-13.1 & then it would go into maintenance mode. This new one I had the wife pick up is an Everlast and it says its for AGM but I watched it and it starts out charging and with in 5 min. It goes into maintenance mode. It started today and was at 12.6v it went up every time let off fuel or hit the brake . Got here sut it off restarted and now it reads 12.7 and the ESS kicked in

You shouldn’t have a trickle charger powered up while the vehicle is running. Ever. It’s one reason I still open the hood to charge. It forces me to unplug the charger before starting it. If you want to monitor the charger, leave the vehicle off and use your meter.

Edit: I made an assumption. They, @Stan H didn't have it running. My apologies.

Not my question, but as a comparison, I’m using an AGM compatible 3 amp battery tender brand maintainer.
