Don’t be worried. If a battery gets low, auto start stop is temporarily disabled. It’s literally a signal to replace your batteries.
OR - it can mean things are out of sync - in my 2020, I charged both batteries independently, with a good AGM charger, reset the IBS, and went on with a perfectly fine working ESS and back to normal voltages in the cluster display.

My ESS hasn't worked for awhile, read years. Maybe I need to try the IBS reset. I'm I correct in my understanding that it can ake days for the reset to finalize? I believe I read it takes something like 5 restarts, with several hours of off time between each restart.

I went with the 50 ton because of the AMC rear axles I work with. If the hub puller doesn't work or someone pulls the whole damned thing, backing plate and all, you almost have to use a press with some serious force.
I’m planning to take it back and buy a “real one” from a reputable company.

Electronic Stop/Start =EPA imposed where the engine shuts off at a stop light then restarts when you take your foot off the brake. Ibs =Intelligent Battery system.= it is a little tiny black sensor on the negative cable side at the terminal that monitors the power level of the Auxiliary Battery for the ESS and the Main battery. It is sandwhiched between both negatives and monitors the volts . It sends a signal to the PCM telling it to either charge the batteries ir to maintain and trickle charge the batteries.
Dont dread that simple stuff. You will easily learn all about it. Look at the pics in my post you will see the IBS its a tiny black sensor. It only takes a 3/8 ratchet and a 10mm socket to take it off and clean the terminals and the IBS contacts. Easy peasey lemon squeezy.
thank you all for the responses at least i understand now what some of the letters stand for. hopefully I won't have to deal with any of it.

@ShadowsPapa I had mine completely off . For over 15min. To clean both contact points . Is this a bad thing .
Sounds like directions are saying take cables off the top of the IBS but leave the clamp and ibs connected to the battery .?? Then what? Unplug it ? Leave it plugged ? Leave it set for awhile without the cables. Maybe I am doing it all wrong.

Good news boys and girls, changing out the main battery, sanding the mating surfaces of the IBS and giving it a day is proving I’ve done the right thing. Driving alternator V is now at 13.1v from 14.2v.

Time to let the hair down and fit that 20t Harbor Freight hydrologic jack in the glove box of my boat without getting irritated!

You can do what someone else suggested and just tap the +- together to dissipate the charge, but never mentioning the aux battery.

Edit..
I forgot to add the step after this, replace your fuse array!

You got to have tools ( meter and a few wrenches)and you have to understand just a little bit of what you are trying to do.
When all else fails, start over and don't skip steps.
