Debatable. Depends on where you live. Most humans in California are low-life scum.
Being a Californian, let me remind you that a lot of us will shoot back if that's the stance you choose. And don't mistake my unwillingness to support murder for vehicles (which you're also destroying in the process) with some kind of support for theft. I'm all for going biblical on them. Lop off a hand when you catch them. I guarantee most will never steal again, and virtually nobody is stealing the 3rd time as hooks aren't great for concealing or pocketing things.

Your the one with the scale of which crimes should be enforced and which ones shouldn't.
Personally, I think the Supreme Court got the shooting a fleeing suspect wrong.
If you run, pew,pew.
Look how much $$you could save the taxpayer 👍
Enforcing crimes with the appropriate level of force is pretty simple. Or do we just treat every jaywalker like an armed, violent felon?

PITing a fleeing felon is appropriate.
Including killing them and bystanders? Just them because you hold no value for criminals lives? Or fuck it kill everyone in the area if you have to in order to recover the now destroyed property?

That wasn't a risky PIT for bystanders.

The death was just a fortunate accident.

In this instance sure, but that wasn't the question. There have been many many times they've killed or severally injured innocent motorists with these PIT maneuvers. Do you support them every time or just when it works out a way you agree with?

When you enabled your AirTag, it should have had a large and obvious warning telling you that using AirTags to track other people will notify the other person and allow them to disable it (also that it's highly illegal).

As a result, when a car thief steals a car with an AirTag in it, they get a notification on their phone that they are being tracked, giving them the option to disable it.

AirTags in cars are security theater.
And yet there's a post here of airbags finding his jeep and other articles showing vehicles found thanks to them. Again, unless they have an apple phone, no notice.

My wife's Toyota was stolen one day
from the hospital parking lot where she worked. A few weeks later it was recovered at an apartment project.

We picked it up at the police property yard. The only damage was that the radio was tuned to a Soul Train station and there were some discarded bandages.

A college classmate of mine had his VW Beetle stolen. Several years later it was recovered and returned to him. He continued driving it for a long time afterwards.

Hardly worth anyone risking their life or dying for. Except I still think the thieves should be put to death in a public execution for the lack of respect they showed us,
and as a deterrent for other prospective car thieves. They will not be missed.

At least they can pursue for almost any violation in places Arkansas and Florida. FAFO. Crazy how in other states the criminal can literally do whatever and drive how they want and not held accountable in the event of a crash and or death.

Yet police who are trained for this; are literally handcuffed and made at fault in the scope of doing their job.

And that's my biggest complaint with the PIT maneuvers. Most times they don't kill anyone, but most times they do total the vehicle. Now you're victimizing the victim just to turn around and give the thief a slap on the wrist. It's unnecessary and illogical.

It is curious how fickle some folks can be when it comes to their stance on punishment for felonies, respect for human life, abiding by the constitution, and deference to law enforcement.
