People Work?
Caught this one last night completely by dumb luck.
I was recording the moonrise and just playing around with settings.
I didn't even see it until I got the video on the computer screen.

An 80 year old friend of my wife (who is also a quilter and part of a group that gets together weekly to solve world issues and once in a while sew something) used to collect stamps.
Over the last year she has given me her assortment of stamps, including an old album and a bunch of stamps she had bought new over the years as they came out, and some she bought from hobby supply outlets.
Recently she was cleaning part of her house and ran across a small bag with several more envelopes of stamps, mostly new, some still in the package they the post office sold them in.
Nice since I'm supposed to avoid lifting and a few things while I heal up from surgeries (and protect my head especially for a while) I have been going through those stamps. It's going to take hours, many, to go through it all.

Dang, I wish the stamps I've collected were that low cost. :like: Most of mine were $200.°° each. 🀭;)
Now in Oklahoma looking at some more of them..... Gotta stay strong want to get some scuba diving in and stuff for Jeeps. The stamp is the cheap part of them. 😳

Most of the last batch was 1980s-2000, not high value things, still available via the vendors for maybe 30-50% over original face value. Still, it goes a long ways for my later books as I paused my collecting in the 1980s and later years.

After spending the last 2 months making the Christmas gifts that my wife "commissioned", I finally got to work on one of my projects. I've been wanting to make a little cabinet to match my plane till:

Here's the carcass sitting on the shelf above the plane till and chisel till:

And I've started building the drawers. 4 down, 8 to go:

Nah, the $200.00 mufflers mainly. I could go to any auto parts store and buy on for a vehicle and required to for $20.00 and up the government didn't care unless I didn't. πŸ€” Same guy registered both.

That is some nice work. That kind of detailed wood working is almost died out as a hobby.

Thanks. Honestly, I’m a retired engineer so I find that everything about woodworking fulfills my need to β€œproblem solve”. Lol

I should decided to try to make things to level like you and many others do. But I normally do a it's just to function wood projects, not really concerned on looking nice much. In fact many things I do are to look crude probably to irritate guys who make things look great. πŸ€”
I remember my father building several projects that were really good. On more than a few I've seen him cull out wood because it wasn't up to his quality or had imperfect spot that would never be seen. There is a bar he built for a friend about 35 years ago inland with hundreds of dollars of bills and change then encased with polymer then buffed to glass finish. His friend ended up selling the establishment, new owner changed the clientele of the establishment. He spent months doing it. For wife #3 He built dining table and chairs and several cabinets for the house... patience and craftsmanship.

Spent some time looking at some other "stamped" things the last few days.... 😳 Some of them cost about what a new fully loaded with everything JTR and JLUR would cost or more. πŸ˜” Without a winning Powerball ticket II'll not have. On the bright side I got a NOS Oldtimer med stockman pocket knife. It's replaced the one I lost several years ago. I paid less than the current price of the now made in China with the name on it.
My buddy got one of his firearms appraised and verified to be one of possibly 37 made that slipped in the market with only 6 verified to be still around his being #6. His purchase for under $600 is worth in current market up to $5000.00 or more. Along with finding a machine gun tripod and mount he been looking for. And a heck of a road trip too.
