Just deleted the Aux battery by taking out the appropriate fuse and installing a brand new Yellow Top H7 Optima. The dealer tested my 30 month old OEM batteries and declared them as needing replacement for over $800 smiling while telling me I was in luck since they had them in stock. NOW, why on God's EARTH would I give the dealer over $800 to replace two batteries that bit the dust in under 3 years with the same POS batteries?!?!?!?!?

Anyway, the process was easy and works as advertised. The stupid avengers light is gone from my display and I now have a much better battery in my Gladiator, way more suited to my purposes and environment.

Yesterday I ordered this Auto Start Stop eliminator from Amazon and it will get here today. I guess this is kind of backwards asking after I bought it but if any folks here have used this unit or similar, any issues? Seems like a no-brainer modification for a $38.

I get around
I just did the aux delete yesterday, too. Went with the Duracell 94r/H7 and couldn't be happier.

I'm always hesitant to get the cheap knockoffs of a well known product. The auto stop eliminator https://www.autostopeliminator.com/collections/jeep?filter.p.m.custom.model=Gladiator is what the Amazon device copies and some have reported issues with clones. The device works well but for a bit more money, you can get a tazer jl mini https://a.co/d/gzy52h8 and unlock much more functionality. It was one of the first mods I did when I got my JTRD at the beginning of the year.

That Bypass you bought from Amazon will work. Even though I have Jscan, I bought that eliminator to see how well it works and so I didn't have to do any settings changes. It works and have been using it for a couple years now. I think when I bought it, it was around $20. But it works though.

Good to know. Have not gotten around to installing it yet but I can report the battery upgrade has gained me a 2+ MPG improvement! I’m no mechanic so I don’t understand how that works but damn I’m happy!

what aux battery delete did you use?
The simple one everyone is using. Disconnected the ground cable that connects the main to the AUX and taped/zip tied back and pulled the fuse (42?). Works as advertised, every thing cleared so no avengers sign on dash and the auto start stop went back to work though I’m turning it off until I get this little gizmo installed. Probably don’t really have to but why not.

Update, I returned the start stop delete dingus. The start stop works fine with the new battery and it’s just so easy to push the button if I want it off that I just don’t want to deviate from factory wiring any more than what I’ve done so far.

Even if the start stop is working, with the dual purpose larger/better battery I should have no problems running around town a few times a week and for long trips it’s a complete non issue.

Is my thinking Ok or am I missing anything?
