A manual transmission with full-time 4x4 didn’t work for the Gladiator, but this spec does exist based on vehicles like the Subaru WRX and Volkswagen Golf R.

With Stellantis discontinuing the Gladiator’s manual transmission, there was no reason to develop a full-time 4x4 transfer case to work with it… but they could have.
It's how it's managed in Jeeps.
It's a different animal in how it operates.
not that it can't be done, but not with the current Jeep system

It's just an electronically controlled wet clutch system in the transfer case. They could make it work just like the others.

Yes, I understand - that's why I said what I said! (twice)

However, why bother when - the SelecTrac isn't even available without the X package (or in the 4xe or V8), and, there's no manual in the JT.

You said it operates differently, and can't be done with the current Jeep system. I'm saying it doesn't operate any different from the other wet clutch full time 4x4 systems. It's not some magic new thing Jeep came up with.

Yeah, as installed, it operates differently.
The transfer case alone pretty similar, "just clutches".
It's how it's controlled by the other modules.
They would have to change the operation of the transfer case as far as when it's applied and how.

The transfer case doesn't operate alone.
It's controlled by the PCM - sensing engine torque, engine RPM, and throttle position and so on.

The magic is in how it's applied and when.

You can't consider the t-case alone.

What does it mean to dip one wheel on the shoulder? Haven’t heard that term before.
The shoulder usually has those rumble strips or gravel which can give you traction that won't be present on the hardtop.
