User error or not its still an unnecessary failure point for me. If I want 4wd, I'll pull the lever. The 4xe and 392 are both only available with it. If the clutches were only involved in 4A I wouldn't care, but when they fail you lose 4HI and 4LO too.
To me the ideal t-case is where you have the mechanical lock for 4L and 4H part time and use the clutches only in 4H auto. (and I'm sure that's where you were going with that)

Exactly. I really don't need 4A and since they charge extra for it I wouldn't opt for it even if it weren't built so that a clutch failure kills all 4wd. If I were to even consider it, it would need to function as you describe with a mechanical lock out of the clutches in part time 4wd modes.

Aw man Bill. What the hell. Just when things seemingly lined up you find out about this omission. Are you going to cancel the order? Swapping out the transfer case is just stepping things up a ton. I mean as you pointed out, you swapping all of your parts over was something of a challenge already without all this added now.

I seem to remember the front axle utilizes cv joints so those would have to be swapped as well. There’s also gotta be computer programming involved too I would think. Maybe @Hootbro or @Charles 236 has some input.

I wouldn't do that swap myself anyway........
Going to let it come in and hope for the best, and if it comes in part time only, will see but would likely see about taking it somewhere to someone who can swap things over.

WEIRD - take a look at this shot of a 2025 Mojave X on a dealer lot on the internet - what does this resemble?
I found more than one like this. Now, maybe those were ordered by the dealers in November of 2024 and that's how they were until the end of the year?
I don't know - but I found more than one like this, obviously not stock photos, as each was just slightly different. This one indicates it was running and in park at the time of the photo.

Yeah, that’s defintely a pic. Of a 4auto. Could be a generic interior picture. The dealers near me will frequently take pictures of the outside of each vehicle but reuse previous interior pictures of another vehicle. Can’t blame them. It’s gotta get monotonous taking pictures of vehicles with nearly the same interior.

You could always wait for the 26 4xe Gladiator to get the Select trac. I’m sure you’d miss out on the Mojito though. Ugh, such a hassle.

I did a nation-wide search for any 2025 Mojave X and found several that were obviously the correct vehicles - shows the Mojave rear diff only lock, camera was showing their building and so on.

@ShadowsPapa It might be cheaper and quicker to just paint your current truck Mojito. It sounds as if it's mechanically exactly the way you want it already.

@ShadowsPapa You already mentioned in another thread about replacing the rear locker with an LSD, could a rear limited slip mitigate the lack of a SelecTrac with all wheel drive sufficiently?

And add power seats, the extra sound deadening..........etc.

My 2022 has LSD - still need to use the 4H auto plowing and certain other times.
Had one with LSD only (the 2020), it's why I got the 2022.

Were you able to see the build sheets on any of the trucks you looked at? ( I think they are calls Monroney stickers??)
I would think the drivetrain info would be on that, I used to use that when looking for a manual transmission as the dealerships often don’t list them properly often

The build sheets for the 2025s don't work with those sites. At least the build sheets links I have saved.

I would also be very interested in a story on someone doing this properly and completely with all the dash working. I really wanted selec-trac on my Rubicon X but knew it wasn't offered on a manual transmission so i didn't even try.

Build sheet is a build sheet. Monroney label is the window sticker. It’s called that because of a lawsuit.

I thought there were differences with the 392 transfercase, besides them being stuck with 4hi auto and no choice of 2hi.
My understanding is some of the issue is using the 4ha when offroad, when they should be in regular 4h.
But I could be wrong about part of that or even all of it.
