You Mojave Guys!

I was going to be one in 21. I knew I wanted a Gladiator. I missed my 1986 CJ8 since i sold it in 94.

But, I'd committed to the new Eco diesel jeep! First I drove the only JT diesel on the lot. A Sport jt with literally NO upgrades. Not even heated seat/str-wheel.

Next weekend the Pretty Mojave showed up on the lot. Took it for a ride and fell in Lust/Luv. But, did I already say I wanted the 3.0? My sales manager spent 3 hours tryng to get someone back east to comitt to a diesel Mojave.

The word finally came back, due to the special front suspension, NO Diesel. So next best thing, order a Rubicon with all the options you want. S-Manager sent wife and I back out with fully loaded 21 3.0 JLU Rubi with almost all the options (no half doors or two tops). It was supposed to be just to check out the optons for ordering, Right!

Well after opening the one-touch top on the last freeway on ramp back to the dealership changed everything. It followed us home. I may have been caught by the shiny object (still love my one-touch, wish the JT had one) but finally added a 21-3.0D Snazzberry Rubi JT 6 months ago w/16k miles. Already had the MOPAR JT lift kit on it.

I love my (opps- ours) Snazzy1. Wife and I still both have our Jlu's. Had hoped to pay the first two off before the (Our JT), but life keeps going and thankfully "He" keeps letting me get up for work to pay for them. 😇

IMO, the name still sort of fits - I mean, the original Jeep produced for the public came from what person/company? Yeah, Willys.

As far as Mojave vs. xxxx
I've driven different levels, owned 2 Overlands, and now my 25 Mojave X - I don't think any of them are a bad choice. As far as one being better than another? To me, it depends on the purpose of the vehicle, what it will be used for and what the buyer deems important to them.
Yeah, I went Mojave because it's a daily driver, there aren't rocks to crawl around here (for that matter, no sand, no dunes, no beaches, either)
I wanted the ride, the comfort and was hoping for something to handle not just our long drives, but daily drives and plowing snow now and then (not often, but when needed, it's needed)

With the incentives out there on the 2025 model year JT - it would seem like a good time for some folks to either trade or get into a JT.

As far as a 2025 Mojave -

I like your thinking on the name - I'll keep it!

And I completely agree with you on the Mojave trim; mine is also a daily driver, plus I drive a fair amount for work. No real off-roading anywhere on Cape Cod - but we do get out on the beach, for which the Mojave will be a good fit - although the Park Service makes sure you keep the speed down! The Willys was a great truck, but *very* basic (it was the Willys Sport trim); aside from a radio, not many creature comforts. The Mojave has almost every box ticked, and is a whole other level of nice.

Yeah, they never offered the 3.0 in the Mojave. Even in the other trims, there were suspension/weight considerations and early on, some issues to deal with until they got it sorted out.
But I bet the Rubicon with the 3.0 feels pretty darned planted with that weight, maybe helping the ride a bit vs. the 3.6

Welcome to the Mojave club! Great color choice.

We had our Mojave out on the beaches in Cape Cod earlier this year and it was fantastic. Even at the slower speeds.

If you really want to open it up and have some fun, Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan was a blast in the Mojave. I have ridden ATV, dirtbikes as well as driven trucks and Wranglers in the dunes there and I was floored how much smoother and capable the Mojave was. Especially with a little speed over the dunes.

I've been happy with it. Never riden in 3.6 JT or JLU, only the Mojave in 21. Wife has the 2.0T and loves it. Reading here has left me smarter than just driving it round. When the dealer got those early Mojave's they didn't know stuff like reinforced Frame. That would have been a real good reason if I didn't want the diesel. With the Mopar 2" jt lift and the included Fox shocks. It's fine for me. It bounces a bit but not uncomfortably. Rode real nice in Moab's basic stuff.
No heavy off road yet.

Got the rear suspension bar support reinforcement plates from Metal-cloak. Some other pre-emptive stuff, but mostly on street driving so far.

And yep, so many other shiny things caught my eye when I chose the one-touch. And at the time, the upvalued park, avoidance, and adaptive speed control really didn't stick out as I didn't have most of it before.

But I do remember how nice the Mojave rode despite cant remember the 3.6, Absolutly! Our JT runs stiffer than the stock Rubi ride on my Jlu and my wife's sport jlu with 3.5" suspension. But for now, that's ok. I am still researching how to get my 3.0 jlu as nice riding on the front as the Mojave. Mine is one of those JLU diesels that slams the front frame when you hit a bump that collapses the suspension. It is teeth jarring.

Lots of varied opportunities as we mature with the 3. Trying to avoid the money pit, 2nd time with Jeeps but that's an off and on again proposition. Lol

I think that's a good idea even for just street driving if the roads are rough at all. That's a weak spot in all JTs, IMO.

There is a handful of 2026 willy’s around here for sale and they all have the preferred package 24w and seem like they're nicely equipped.
I cant pull the trigger on them tho, i have my mind made up about the mojave trim. I would like to pull the trigger this week and order one. Finally anyways.

Op i can see why you went with the mojave. Its a great package.
