My daughter received her notice for her 2024 4xe, but they do not have a resolve for it as of yet.

On a 4xe related issue, wife’s grand Cherokee 4xe’s heater quit blowing warm air only cold. Issue is with the combination electric/engine coolant heater system. Nice surprise driving yesterday in 34 degree weather.

As for the most recent recall, the one just before this one we did slowed the charge rate of the high voltage battery. Now it takes 12 hours to get a 20 mile charge. No repair available for the battery recall.

If I was Jeep and had a bunch of engineers, well paid I’m sure that couldn’t solve an issue with at least 20 year old technology I believe I’d get with Toyota or Honda and poach some of their engineers.

Easy diagnostics start at the front “JEEP” hood lettering and replace all the parts and software code working all the way to the tailpipe finisher until it starts working. Ours goes to the dealer Monday and at this point they can keep it until all this crap is fixed. Maybe when we get it back next winter we can use what we paid extra for.

Current GC was the result of our previous GC diesel with the high pressure fuel pump suicides and a rear main seal failure at less than 35k miles. Loved the diesel hated all the issues we had with it.

Friend of mine bought the 4xe for his wife when they came out. They've always owned Jeeps, and it seemed perfect on paper since she could do her daily work commute on battery. No real problems, but the amount of recalls and problems others have had scared him. Couple that with the fact that NH belongs to a regional multistate power grid and is saddled with the high electric costs incurred by surrounding states (no politics, let's just leave it at that) and falling gas prices and they traded it in after about a year. She's in a Rubicon X now and all is well.
I think he's still trying to sell his home charging station. I told him to keep it since most of the cost was in the install, and it's not costing anything just hanging there.

Was thinking of selling the GC about three months ago, my wife retired and really doesn't need it. Checked last night and the Carmax value had dropped from $38,400 to $27,400. Wow! I would personally like to thank Jeep for their "planned obsolescence" of a really nice suv. Maybe if Stallantis took a hard look at the bottom line at the end of year and the investors took a look at their ROI things might would change. Whatever happened to good ol American engineering.

I will have to say in all my 56 years of driving, these issues and lack of concern ($ spent to correct) are sad. If a company is going to put all these bells and whistles on vehicle they need to be prepared for the consequences. Fix em or people will go elsewhere.

Check Carvana and Driveway too. When I got the wife's new JLU, the dealer trade-in on her JK was pitiful. Carmax, Carvana Driveway all offered a lot more more. Driveway was not the highest, but it was close to it, and they came and picked it up, whereas both of the other 2 required me to bring it to one of their locations. One was over an hour away, the highest paying one was 2.5hrs on a good day. Since we already swapped insurance and reg to the new Wrangler, I would have had to trailer the JK to either of those options, and since she was the legal owner, she would have had to take a day off of work to come along. Went with Driveway.

Its under reconstruction with a focus on finding talent that otherwise would have no interest in engineering so that the pool of engineers and their ideas will be of a more diverse makeup.

You know, I really like the car. Bunch of really cool stuff like infrared camera, passenger dash screen etc. Most of it I still haven't figured out how to use since my wife gets onto me about fooling with stuff while I'm driving. Sigh, too much negative equity to be able to get rid of it at the moment. I'm also torn since she would be driving the Gladiator when I was working if she needed to get out, and its really not set up for her. Ha Ha.

Heard from the dealer today. Wait for it…..couldn’t replicate the heater issue, good to take it home after recommending the two cabin filters be replaced. WOW here we are at the beginning of winter and the heater is iffy.

What BS, with the scars and memory of chemo 48 years ago I guess since it can’t be replicated it never happened.

Also was told the most recent recall will be finished by the end of the year. No kidding the solution is t, “not charge the battery and park it outside”.

Thank you Stalantis for your great customer service and care.

Two cabin filters? Ones in the glovebox, where's the second?

In the glove box. If the GC is like the JL and the JT, you need to squish the filter a bit to get it in.
For reasons I never understood, at least on the JL/JT, they used 2 half sized filters side by side on the diesel instead of one full size. Same overall size. Same airbox. Easier to change. Twice the cost.
Completely interchangeable.
Some of the aftermarket has adopted the same design since it's harder to squish a "premium" filter:

Interesting...

My 22 JTRD only has one cabin filter. Like this.

My 21 GCL also only has one cabin filter. I was wondering if there was a second in the rear for the 3rd row seating hvac area?

Seems to be a random sort of thing from both oem and aftermarket. I've almost always just used the same Mopar number that I was in there when it was built, but I have seen other 2 piece aftermarket options like the K&N.
