I don't think it is really known what the new North American Dakota is going to look like.
Most of the pics I have seen are either AI generated as a guess, or a global market version that is not ever coming to the US the market.
I do hope that it looks a lot more like its big brother then what I have been seeing in these articles, that are simply using Ai art or foreign market Dakota's.

I think since they've confirmed the same Ram Dakota name as already introduced in other markets, the US / NA version will look substantially the same, except for things that may need changing for compliance (bumper nip/tuck and certain lighting elements like sidemarkers etc.).

I doubt we're going to going to see drastically different truck designs with the same exact name for different markets.

Time will tell, if all it has is that Hurricane 4 banger in it, my interest would be gone as far as wanting to own one.

It used to be speculated that the new Dakota and the Gladiator would be built on the same line on the same chassis. Which given that the Gladiator is due for refresh soon, I thought the timing only made sense that they would launch around the same time on the same platform.

Which would not likely be shared with the smaller global market Dakota seen in a lot of the pics around the web.

Yes I'm going to need one with a 5.7L V8, a manual transmission, usable rear seat length from the gladiator and/or extended cab option, rear LSD and the selec-trac transfer case. Maybe it can come from the factory with a pre-dented rear bumper and pinstripes down the side, call that option the Dickies IDGAF Edition?

I just hope they don’t do what Ford did with the Ranger. They just used the Global Ranger and adapted it to the US market/regulations. That wouldn’t be bad except they totally phoned it in. I understand that they addressed some of the early issues, but the first year or two had comically bad fit and finish.

They make that. It's called the Ram 1500

The original Dakota trucks offered features the competitors didn't have. That was its calling card. V8 engines, slightly larger cabin, longer cargo beds, etc.

If this new one doesn't offer things the competitors don't have, it'll be DOA. The version they are selling overseas won't cut it here in the U.S. The competition is too fierce. I hope Stellantis is wise enough to see this.

exactly, i got my 99 Dakota because it was bigger than a S10 and offered the V8 plus it looked pretty good compared to the rest. But that 5.9 drank like a drunken sailor at an open bar ...
