That would be a tough breakover angle. Did anyone make it all the way over?
Haha, no. No one in our group made it over, or even tried. We joked about winching one of the vehicles over from the opposite side. Crazy how people have made it over (YT videos). Super fun day though. That would be a tough breakover angle. Did anyone make it all the way over?
Looks like it. Did you try getting to the top of one side? Or were you concerned with the rest coming back down? What’s the angle?Haha, no. No one in our group made it over, or even tried. I didn't even bother trying to go up any further. I could tell the rear overhang and hitch was going to be a problem, even backing down from where I was. It starts at about 30 deg, and the main part is 60 deg.Looks like it. Did you try getting to the top of one side? Or were you concerned with the rest coming back down? What’s the angle?
60 is insane. The biggest thing I’ve climbed was 45, and it felt like being vertical.I didn't even bother trying to go up any further. I could tell the rear overhang and hitch was going to be a problem, even backing down from where I was. It starts at about 30 deg, and the main part is 60 deg.
The rest of the hills and obstacles were no problem. There were a few that were probably 40 deg (maybe 45)- but not 60. The only one I did not do were the tubes (stacked concrete pipes). My friends who had Bronco and 4Runners bottomed out and hit their frames and skid plates. One of the 4Runners had to be pushed (and skidded) over. The Wranglers did just fine nice and slow (shorter wheelbase helped). Later that day, on the way back, we split up. I took a high speed (70 mph) desert route. I took air at least three times. Yeah, I felt the bump stops. This is where a Mojave would've thrived. I'm seriously thinking of hydraulic bump stops and steel steering knuckles. Rode perfectly smooth once I got on pavement and aired up. No squeaks or rattles- a win!60 is insane. The biggest thing I’ve climbed was 45, and it felt like being vertical.
I love going fast. I don’t have a Mojave, but did add front hydraulic bumps, and steel knuckles. The rest of the hills and obstacles were no problem. Sometimes three wheels is enough.
