Two days ago, I lost WiFi. Yesterday Bluetooth stopped initializing. Today, the system booted 4 times before screen came to life and radio (XM) started working. Soft reset did nothing. Pulling fuse did nothing. Radio works fine. Nav works fine (for what it is). Apple Car Play works. Climate controls work. Backup camera is fine.

Do I need a replacement?

Previous to my JT, I had uConnect in my Challenger. Absolutely HATE the uConnect system. My last system got so hot that it literally leaked the glue substance between the touchscreen and the digitizer TWICE. I had to but a replacement stereo through Infotainment (I believe out of Tampa, FL). Haven't had issues with this one per se, beyond the random times it doesn't want to connect to BT.

If I were in your shoes, I'd keep using it plugged in and save for a Stinger Radio replacement if it is out of warranty. Otherwise, Infotainment <www.infotainment.com> is the way to go.

This might worth a shot. I keep getting UConnect service alerts. This solved it. The brains on the UConnect lives under the dash near steering wheel and is easy to get to. I unlatched the power cord to the unit (circled in red) and then I gently pushed all the connections going to the unit, they are mostly antennae connections. I would have disconnected them too and reinstalled but I was not sure how to disconnect them. This solved my issues. And I believe it has to do with the connection of the antennas and possible resistance at this connection.

It sounds like your head unit is having some internal issues, especially since things like WiFi and Bluetooth are down, but other functions are fine. Since soft resets and fuse pulls didn’t work, it might be a hardware issue in the system itself, potentially with the internal module for WiFi/Bluetooth. A replacement is a possibility, but I’d recommend visiting the dealer or a tech who can run diagnostics to see if it’s fixable with a firmware update or repair before jumping to a full replacement.

Thanks Fish. I pulled off the panel, but couldn’t find the unit pictured. Is it on the inside (transmission tunnel) side or the outside?

So, after three days of frustration, I get in the Jeep, fire it up, and everything works. Bluetooth, wifi, steering wheel controls. It all works.

uConnect doing uConnect things, man. There are time when mine won't connect to BT, other times when I get black screen for 30 sec before finally loading.... I restate my opinion- saving for a Stinger Horizon 12.

You have to get low and look up just to the right of the steering column near and above transmission hump.

I love the GPS in these Jeeps , the ability to input coordinates, street addresses , record a trail , hold 30 destinations, give a elevation, and exact GPS coordinates location and save as a destination. I love most everything about it.
