I removed the coolant tank bracket to do some coolant maintenance and I put a little stress on the brake booster tubing, which goes to the brake booster check valve. Intermittently, as I move the tube, I hear a hiss from what seems to be the check valve.

Has this happened to anyone? I shouldn’t hear hisses, right? Seems like a safety issue that I need to address.

(The check valve is item 4 in the attached diagram)

I do believe that is a semi common failure and will leads the burning up the vacuum pump when it runs nonstop due to the leak.
How do I remove the check valve to check this assembly out? Does it pull straight out? Hmm maybe it’s threaded.

When I looked at one in the shop, I remember it being one part and wasn't separable. Buy the whole tube?
yes I may do that. It looks like the check valve comes with it/attached.

This is what I think happened: the seal between the check valve and booster, let some air in, when I nudged the tube/hose. So first I’ll try pulling the check valve out of the booster, clean the seals, apply a tiny tiny bit of vacuum grease on sealing surfaces.
