it is normal. If you don’t believe me go to the dealer and start up any JL or JT, have the salesman push on the brake and let off, while you stand outside. It can easily be heard, but better if parked next to a wall

I have a new Gladiator Rubicon and didn’t notice the hiss until I got it back with a 2” lift and new wheels last night. Don’t know whether that helps anyone but I was up against a wall when it was most audible. Will be checking in with dealership soon.

I have learned the hiss is normal. Hearing it on new vehicles and on vids with JLs and JTs

LOL. Just noticed mine doing it in the Mickey D’s drive through last night! It entertained me until my 2 double quarter pounders were ready!

I had this same thing. The dealer said it was too loud and replaced the vacuum pump and it is still the same. It is normal.

Hey everyone, just a little background on me. I run a Chevy dealership and recently just traded my Colorado ZR2 for another gladiator Rubicon and I noticed this sound to myself.
I didn't notice this this when I had my 2020 JT diesel. It got me worried so I drove down to our Chrysler dealership (we have 40 locations) just to look at multiple new gladiator units and compare the sound.

For those of you who are worried, just know that I looked at three brand new JT's including two rubicons and a sport and all three of them are making the same exact noise. Roughly a 3 second hiss or an electronic buzzing noise when you depress the brake pedal as well as a roughly 3 second noise when you lift your foot off the pedal. I would consider this normal and nothing to worry about as all four units including mine are making the same exact noise.

I have the same issue, this hissing sound every time I press and release brake pedal, took my Gladiator to dealership and the answer I got was that the sound is normal on the 22 Gladiator, little bit worry because I don't want a surprise after 36k miles that something needs to be replace on the brake system, tried to contact JEEP directly and no tech support there...

I have the same noise on my 22 Willys. I've always thought it was normal and my brakes seem to work fine so I never addressed it.

Mine has had it for a while. I figure grinding, clashing, knocking, screeching sounds are bad. Hissing sounds, meh. Everything works anyways.

I am a new JT owner and noticed the sound when it rolled up out of the car wash then like everyone else, heard it loudest when next to a wall.

Mine was creating the sound when turning the wheel as well as applying the brake.

I thought it sounded almost like an electronic assist but was unsure so I made my way here to find out more.

Seems like this noise is standard.

Old thread, but this has been bugging me recently. Although I do have the Teraflex “BBK”, I actually now realize this hiss/leak sound comes from the boot near the pedal itself.
