Well, just came from the dealer where purchased the and was told I needed to leave the vehicle for * two months * so they can insure proper mileage on the new cluster (with the 2 mouth parts lead time. 1 need to literally Trade the truck for another one in order to stay on schedule for our camping and travel this summer. So Long dear JT,, 1 did enjoy you while it lasted
Or just send in the dash as discussed above independent of the dealer involvement.

You know you can drive your JT with out a cluster while it is out for repair with United Radio right? Can use waze for speedometer. If mileage discrepancy is a worry, estimate and have them program it.

Not perfect but way cheaper than dealing with buying a new truck unless that is what you really want all along and this is just the justification. Probably take a hit on trade in for the broken cluster anyways.

I completely understand. My situation is unique because we planned about four weeks of travel with the camper starting on Sunday. I just didn’t wanna have to do all that traveling with a load and not have access to engine temperature and other alerts as well as fuel range and all that stuff that I value quite a bit when I’m out doing long trips. Believe me, I had an alternate plan, figuring out using maps and keeping track of mileage in a manual ledger. The way I was treated by the service department (literally leaving the truck for two months until part came in because they needed to order the part with the mileage at the time of ordering That was a non-starter and completely unacceptable

I have a friend with a 2020 ruby with the 8.4 screen package who was also feed that line about her vin not in the recall group. She also has the mopar extended warranty and was told it will be several months until they can get to the repair because recall claims take priority.

Basically standard FCA/mopar BS that devalues the brand and turns away customers. I have suggested she blow off FCA and just send in the screen to a 3rd party repair and be back on the road in 10 days or less.
My situation exactly. 20 Rubicon with 7" cluster and 8.4" infotainment screen. Spent 3 months at the dealership with no help. "Waiting on parts." Picked it up and took the dash out myself. Really easy actually. Just gotta have some finesse with some of the trim clips. Sent it off to United Radio and returned a fee days later. Whole thing from disassembly to reassembly was about 9 days. And cost $220. So worth it. I have a complaint case with NHSTA, had a complaint case with Jeep Doesn't Care, had the whole caseworker from who knows where (which was completely useless). I'll enjoy my Gladiator as long as I can, but I'll never buy another Jeep vehicle again.

And forgot to mention... the odometer was exact when I reinstalled it. That data is in the ECM.

OK, correct me if I'm wrong Rubicon owners, Rubicons did not have the 3.5" IPC which is the ONLY dash affected.

So why all the trash talk and whining about a recall that doesn't affect you. My dealer looked it up and told me Rubicons are not affected as they never had that dash which was on the lower trim models like Sports.

The recall is for the 3.5" screen. That part is correct. And Rubicons have a 7" screen. The "trash talk" is because there have been NUMEROUS accounts of the 7" screens going out too, yet not enough to warrant a recall, I guess. So we're stuck with fixing it ourselves, which can be fairly expensive...IF the damn parts ever come in. The problem is that both screens are having issues, but the 3.5" is the only one with the recall. So yes, your stealer is correct... Rubicons are not affected by the recall, but that doesn't mean that their screens don't go out too. You'd be a little salty too if you had to pay for the same problem that's covered under a "recall".

Thanks for the clarification. I know lots of Rubicon owners and no issues with that. I didnt know that the Rubicon issue was "numerous". My diesel and others have had numerous issues most pertaining to the turbos and pollution systems, yet no recalls because not enough diesels sold and Jeep stopped offering them which makes them more rare and less likely to be recalled.

Well for those of you that have issues, good luck with parts. My last dealer experience was over 180 days waiting for parts, Jeep issued the recall in 2022 and now 3 years later, no parts, that's criminal.

Totally agree. That's why I took care of it myself. Saturday at the dealership for 3 months...waiting on parts. Did my research and took the dash out (10 Phillips screws), sent the bad screen to United Radio. They fixed it, sent it back, and all in all it cost me $229 and about 6 days. Definitely leaves a sour taste for future problems. Oh well. Good luck with yours!

Is there a guide or a video by chance? If not, would you write one, and what parts you had to use?
Edit: United Radio https://www.unitedradio.com/ These guys?

Hello all, looks like I'll be sending my 7" in. It's been off and on for awhile now and seems to have given up. However, since the screen is blank, I don't know what the mileage is. Best I can do is a ballpark unless I get lucky and it comes back to life again. Is there a way to see the mileage without the screen? Does it really matter?
