That part I get.
It’s that they want to take a walk on my property because it is nicer than theirs and it’s not like they are walking past, it is through the middle of the property and right along the cabin. Like ‘can I come hang out in your backyard, it’s nicer than mine’.
It’s not the social aspect, it’s the entitlement.
At one point, someone took down some trees and part of a fence to make a path for their golf cart and 4 wheeler. I put the fence back up.

I mean their first text says it all. ‘I know that you and your family is here but I still want to trespass hundreds of yards through your property, with someone else and their pets which your dogs might eat. ‘ From a retired executive.

They put you in a tight spot by asking.
No answer is an answer, but they can use that against you to ask again.
We have 70 acres here, and nothing that matters is visible from the highway, for reasons.
If you say yes once, it's yes forever, and it will devolve into them not even asking anymore.
You can't get back to where you are now without a LOT of stress and worry.
Politely, No.
If they ask why, then it's because you asked and that was the answer. Thanks for asking. That was neighborly and the right thing to do.

If me, I would go to their front door, knock on it and have an adult discussion with them express my opinion on the subject. This is not something I would leave to text as tone, inflection, facial expression is left out and does not convey the meaningfulness of the subject matter.
