While I understand that the purpose of the remoteness is remoteness, the neighbors are in their 60ās, this isnāt and odd occurrence for someone in that age range. People used to associate with their neighbors. My Mom talks to any and every neighbor she sees out on her multiple walks every day.![]()
This is my phone this morning.
Wife and I have a cabin on 7 acres that we only get to a few times a year. We are one of 5 places on a little 10 acre pond/lake. We have been here 10 years and everyone else is newer. The driveway is about 15ā from the back door, which is open while we are here. We bring our dogs (German Shorthair Pointers) and they run on gps collars.
Am I just a Karen? Or could it be that I bought a cabin on 7 acres to get away from people like that? Neighbor asking is mid 60ās retired and moved permanently to their cabin from NJ.
Just wow. In that case tell them no. Gotta set boundaries quick or theyāll keep at it. Unbelievable. That part I get.
Itās that they want to take a walk on my property because it is nicer than theirs and itās not like they are walking past, it is through the middle of the property and right along the cabin. Like ācan I come hang out in your backyard, itās nicer than mineā.
Itās not the social aspect, itās the entitlement.
At one point, someone took down some trees and part of a fence to make a path for their golf cart and 4 wheeler. I put the fence back up.

I would tell them your dogs are muthafukkin Jedis and then send them this. So, Iām not in left field on this one. Iām not just Carl Fredrickson from āUPā
I mean their first text says it all. āI know that you and your family is here but I still want to trespass hundreds of yards through your property, with someone else and their pets which your dogs might eat. ā From a retired executive.
