I was in Fairbanks two days ago. Now in Denali National park. I did that trip in 2009, however I didn't make it to Prudhoe bay. We turned around in Coldfoot. Enjoy!

BC37 is a beautiful trip back to the lower 48 if anyone is interested.

Yes, the weather has been great the last couple of days. We were able to see Denali.

West of Deadhorse right now, due to the job-job out at Pikka. The tundra has begun its explosive greenening, with the usual tundra flowers, too many damned bou in the roads and the occasional (read: constant) ptarmigan attempting to fly directly into my grill.

Ah, Slope Life.
Glad you got to come up in a relatively dry time.

Have a roadblocking caribou. Glad you made the trip up!

Looks like an awesome trip !! You can see your Jeep getting dirtier and dirtier and the cracks in your windshield getting more and more as the trip progressed.

A blatant sign of an awesome road trip !! 👍

Great adventure!
when we did it in 2020 diesel was 4.99 in Deadhorse. Things sure have changed. Did you eat in Coldfoot? The burgers are awesome!

Starting at Big Lake:
Day 1: Fairbanks (North Pole)
Day 2: Coldfoot - surprised they had cell service. Expensive gas.
Day 3: Deadhorse - Midnight sun, arctic ocean. Really expensive gas.
Day 4: Coldfoot - Nice camp ground 5 miles north.
Day 5: Back to Big Lake. We were going to stop at Fairbanks but it was raining hard so we drove through.

Big Lake is about an hours drive from Anchorage.

We ate in Coldfoot. They cater to the truckers so during mealtimes it was buffet. Otherwise you could order from their menu, pretty good food!

Yeah, you drive up the Haul Road, just get your windshield premium ready to fork over.

And make sure you are getting an OEM windshield. Safelite likes to cheap out on the windshield up here if they have to replace it. Luckily, I do believe we in Alaska normally get 2 free windshields a year before insurance really starts charging.

Actually meant to ask OP, how was the Beaver Slide when you traversed it? Good and dry or holding on and praying whilst you skid?
