What is going on here with pricing.

So I noticed a base Gladiator sport, and a base 2 door Wrangler sport are withing $700 of each other. I did include the auto Transmission to the Wrangler so they were equipped evenly. I know this is not where they make their money, but for 700 bucks, you get 3.73 gears, a bed, and two more doors. It is actually cheaper to buy a Gladiator sport, than a Wrangler unlimited sport. But you can get firecracker red on the Wrangler.
So the Gladiator is the best bang for the buck between the three.

I can only assume the Wrangler 2 door is a victim of its low take rate at this point. I think its 10-15% of JL sales.

Very few people want them, and it's not gonna get cheaper to build them when the sales are low.

I am almost thinking they are pricing them to fail so they can justify ending production of 2 door Wrangler. I mean, it might sell better in the low 30s range.

Here in my area a JT Rubicon price is basically the same as a Sport S. A Mojave will come in about $1000 higher.

A Wrangler Sport is about the same as a JT Rubicon and Sport S, but a Wrangler Rubicon or Sahara will be $8-10,000 higher.

Caveat - this is based on 3 dealers within 20 miles of me and based on their inventory actually on the lot and 2026.

I've been shopping the Gladiators for about 3 months, but haven't really compared prices to a Wrangler, since I wasn't interested in a Wrangler, and we don't need two. I did notice, at one point, the base Gladiator price went from $40,XXX to $39,XXX, making it come in at less than $4K under a Wrangler. The inventory on Gladdy's right now is insane, hence why Jeep is offering 10% off MSRP, and many dealers in my area are matching, or exceeding it! There are some dealers taking off 12% BEFORE the Jeep discount. Stupid thing is, there is nothing in inventory specced how I wanted, so I ended up buying my NOS 2025 unicorn, which was specced EXACTLY how I wanted, for over 21% off MSRP.
