Those are some good looking nuts!! šŸ˜‚

Really though thanks for posting that link. I’ve been looking for affordable attachment points for the bed rails that look good. I’ve seen a lot of the plain Jane silver ones but nothing painted or anodized that is within a reasonable price range. They don’t really have to be ā€œprettyā€ but there’s a pride element to it.
Heres a tote basket that holds my gas can and miscellaneous stuff when I’m out trailing around. Looking at fabing up a couple more of them to be bolted to my trial rails In the bed.

@Freems Ok that’s pretty cool. One I haven’t seen before but you said you fab it so that’s to be expected. I’m going to have to do some measuring and see how much room I may have on the trail rails. Passenger side is going to be pretty much covered with fridge power and camp stuff. Rear is the same. Part of the driver’s side will be taken by spare tire and possibly a compressor. Still weighing options there though. I think I’ll have room for 1 lengthways or possibly 2 perpendicular to the bed. What are the dimensions on that crate?

7 1/2ā€ D x 15 1/4ā€ W x 1/8ā€ mild steel. 9 1/2ā€ back height, 7 1/2ā€ front height. Stole the design off my bumper that it came with. Making two more now , one will be 25ā€ W x 12ā€ wide, to hold my EU 2000 Honda generator and another one 7 1/2ā€ x 15 1/4ā€ as well, will move both smaller ones to the trail rails. The big one will go on the rear bumper for the generator. Tools needed, brake press and a plasma cutter. I’ve also got a circle jig for making holes with the hot wrench.

btw: those are called acorn nuts, perfect for exposed corners, less skin wear and tear.

What specs do you need? When you carry a lot of stuff in a 5’er, youā€˜ve got to be organized.

THose are the specs I was looking for. I’m still laying it all out in my head. I have a basic plan and something like this could come into play for fuel storage inside the bed. Possibly attached to the shell of a half bed drawer system. I need the width of a 12.5 tire plus a few inches free of bolted down gear in order to remove the spare from the bed. Once I get some replies from a couple vendors I may ask you for more detailed plans if you are willing to share them.

Thanks! I’ve been chewing on ideas for my rear winch bumper; is your winch attached to the bumper or trailer hitch?

Trailer hitch mounted, mounted it to a Drawtite winch plate.
