Baxter oil filter mod

For those that have the Baxter oil filter mod, does it make startup less noisy? And how inconvenient are the oil changes when you have to use compressed air the drain the filter?

To my understanding, it’s a 10psi push into a Schrader valve. If that’s all it is it shouldn’t be too horrible. A little battery tire inflator could push that in a couple seconds. Heck a bicycle pump could probably push that. At the benefit of dropping oil a couple seconds earlier on startup it should make it a bit quieter.

Mine eliminated the startup rattle.

As to evacuate the oil filter, I have used both a small portable pancake compressor and even a small M12 Milwaukee air inflator. 30 seconds of either and not even a drop comes off the oil filter when removed.

Baxter adapter is a lot like when one installs an oil drain valve. You need to be pretty much 100% committed to doing every one of your oil changes as most shops will screw it up to some degree if you let them change your oil and oil filter with this setup.

A bunch of my customers have the Baxter and LOVE it. Silent cold starts. 30 minute or less install time. It’s going on mine soon.

I didn't wanna drill into the housing for the Metalcloak front diff skids at first but at least it wasn't under the hood. But I did it anyway and I'm glad I did.

Love mine on both my Wranglers. No more rattle rattle on startups. When changing my filter I simply take a center punch and poke a small hole in the top pf the filter and let it drain for a few hours. works great.

Yes. completely drains the filter if you let it set long enough.
