Under 4 wheel drive models only. Can someone explain that feature on manuals?
Its for the manual transmission only. Essentially it allows you start the car in gear incase you stalled driving up some trickery obstacle and dont have the ability to do the clutch dance or heel toe method. I have only ever used it twice in my JK just to test the theory and to show others. So basically the manual JK had the first etorque because you could make the car go forward off the battery and starting motor.

I have used it when a clutch safety switch failed. The vehicle didn't recognize the clutch was disengaged and won't start, popped in 4wd Low and started right up, then I shifted to 2wd high. It was a temporary fix, but it got me home.

Did anyone find driving speeds if you have freedom panels off for hard top or soft top back with rear panels in place? I believe the wrangler has limiting speeds for both.

I have never seen that for my jk and I have driven down the freeway without the freedom panels, with the soft top partially back, with the soft top all the to the tailgate, without any part of the roof, and/or any of the doors. That was the point of the wrangler.

Hopefully someone can weigh in who has a jl. I'm certain I read something along those lines.

You're right...rear window needs to be rolled up or taken out at speeds over 45 mph with sunrider open on wrangler. I was curious about the same thing for gladiator...

Was that in the jl owner manual? If so I would think it should be in the jt manual?

I just searched the Gladiator manual and there is no mention of a speed limit when freedom panels removed. Searched the 2019 JL manual and there was also no mention of a speed limit when freedom panels removed. Searched the wrangler forum and didn't see any posts regarding concerns for this. So I don't think is a real concern. The only mention I have seen of it was someone posting the concern on this forum. But I have never seen any hard proof to back it up.

I'm glad to have another set of eyes searching for it.

It is in the JK manual. Page 160 of the 2007 version. Obviously things have changed and it actually states 40 mph. I am sure it would be in the current manual if it was going to be an issue.
