Hey I see we have been moved to a new section. Cool I am looking forward to seeing some real products. Thank you all for the positive comments I get. I try to get to as many requests as I can. I know that some of my design thoughts can be way out there at times but thats also what makes this fun for me. Your feedback helps me come up with creative ideas.

Some of you may be new to the Jeep thing. Others may already understand the jeep culture. For me Jeeps have been a part of my life since I was a teen. I think the best part of owning a jeep is what you make and do with it. How many other vehicle brands can state that and back it up. With all the aftermarket support I could go out today and still build a brand new CJ if I wanted to. The Gladiator is special to me. Its a real factory jeep pickup. something I have not seen since the MJ. Its time has been long overdue. So with that I will leave you all with this thought.

Ok back to my madness. based on some comments I received on the Jurassic park jeep I made another option that I think would be good for those of you with pets and want security with an open air feel. Here is a caged bed topper with a rack and a canvas cover.

Been waiting a month for Leiter to finish theirs. Emailed em again today. We'll see come Monday.

I have bolted the rack in the cargo rails, I have went from mock up to paint and install. Cargo rack can come off quickly so that I can carry a kayak, the silver cargo rails have tie down points that are adjustable. I now have to wire in my go light.

so would the canvas cover the top of this? Looks like no because the rack is above the canvas. i guess the canvas would then give more privacy, but still allow for open air above if there were pets in there, or spitting dinosaurs.

The canvas would be 3 pieces. Top which would fit around the rack and 2 sides. you could always add a 4th for the back as well. This way you can run it with or without sides and still have the top on or off. Using the 80/20 stuff I gave info on earlier in this thread this could be home built with no welding.

i wonder how much the required pieces for an 8020 kit would cost. as i recall when i looked into 8020 for another project like 7 years ago, you could get a price list.
