I saw this on the Facebook Gladiator Owner’s Group

I called the number yesterday...it was a Dodge service line...I spoke to a Dodge service rep (nice lady)...she needed my VIN and personal information. After she confirmed everything, told me the Gladiator manual hard copy should arrive in about 2 weeks....I was not charged anything.

Credit goes to Karen Wood:
FYI, if you ask the dealership for an owners manual kit it will cost you 75 bucks. If you call this number our dealership gave us 1-800-423-6343 they will send it to you free of charge and in the meantime, will also send you 2 emails, one being the owners manual and the other being how-to videos.

That’s crazy. Any and every car should come with an owners manual, plain and simple. Who in the world is going to print out such a huge PDF copy and then try to stuff it into the tiny glove box? And especially after someone forks out $50,000 to $60,000 (or more to some of the Jeep stealership thieves that have the audacity to tack on ginormous “extra profit” addendum stickers). And Jeep sits back and lets these thieves do this! This gives the stealerships and Jeep a horrible reputation. Jeep needs to put a complete owners manual in the glove box of every Gladiator, period.

I would not even drive off the lot until the dealership gives me an owners manual. After all the owners manual tells you how everything works. I’d make certain that management at the dealership knows full well that the “deal” is not done until the car has the complete 200 page instruction book in the glove box, not an abbreviated version. Pathetic for anyone to attempt to charge $75 for this.

If you’re buying a Gladiator...call the number and get a hard copy of the manual.
Bitching about it doesn’t change the situation.
If you’re not buying a JT because you’re not provided a manual at time of acquisition when you now know how to get one for free...that makes no sense.

Wait...I am honestly taken back a bit. As stated above, every vehicle I have ever owned, used or new, has always come with it. I didn't even think to look in the glove box when I test drove them a couple weeks back. Can someone clarify if this is actually true....these trucks don't actually come with owners manuals? Or are you talking about getting a duplicate copy?? No, it's not a big deal....it's the fact that after dropping money on a brand new car or truck, I'm sure any buyer shouldn't expect to have to ASK for what should be part of the vehicle. Whether they give you one for free when you call or not, shouldn't even have to ask. That's really pathetic for a company as large as FCA.

I completely agree...I traded a Porsche Cayenne for my LE...the Cayenne had a detailed manual in a leather bound case.
I don’t have my LE Gladiator yet...it’s built and in transit to my dealership. So I don’t know if a manual is included with it.
Based on what I’ve read and to ensure I had a hard copy of the manual when my LE arrives...I called the number and ordered one.

Do what you want with the info I posted...I was only trying to pass along good info to other Gladiator owners.

I ordered a Cherokee Trailhawk in 2014. It did not come with a full manual. Instead it came with a shorter user’s guide, but it included a number to receive a free full manual. I called the number, and they mailed one to me. So at least with new Jeep models, I think this has been going on for several years. Maybe others have had a different experience

Meh, I do not blame the vehicle makers for the trend of removing complete owners manuals. The simple fact is most owners never crack the thing open anyways or they just now download the PDF version and word search what they need.

Earlier today I saw a Rubicon Gladiator at a dealership. Doors were unlocked so I jumped in for a quick look at it. Have seen a Rubicon before so just just made it a quick look so a salesperson would not want to grill me for my contact info. I had read that the instruction manual was only some 200 or so pages thick, don’t remember the exact number of pages. I expected to see a very big owners manual in the glove box. Instead I found what looked like maybe 50 pages in what looked like an abbreviated manual. It was sealed with some other manual(more than likely a tire book). But this was nowhere near 200 pages. Glove box was extremely small. A 200 page manual would fill up this small glove box.

This is exactly what happened when we got out GC.
I don’t see it as a big deal as 99% of people never even read it.
Those of us that are geeking out about our rigs will just have to call.

No biggie.

I think I read somewhere that you can open the manual from the infotainment screen. I'd prefer that over a paper copy. With the doors off, I'm going to need all the lockable storage I can get. Plus, paper manuals don't get updates and corrections.

Definitely read the manual. There's a specific method to removing the door pillar panels to disconnect those door harnesses also.
This was from the thread: Cheaply made cap.

Another good reason to make certain that you get an owners manual when take delivery of your Gladiator.
