OH SNAP! LOOKS LIKE I'M GOING TO BE EATING MY WORDS, LMAO.
I was going to make a video for you to demonstrate how it locks and prevent you from opening it into weekend warrior mode. But I can’t get mine to lock. Tried for so long. So maybe that guy was full of it. :LOL:

Do I need to buy a dang Mopar tonneau just to test /demonstrate? Is there an owners manual on the soft tonneau?

How long did it take to order and receive? I need one for my overland ASAP.

Thanks
@DGPerron

It was in stock at a local dealership, I called the one closest to my house and he didn't have one. He was able to check local inventory and they were in stock at a few dealers. I paid 500.00 plus tax for it.

I was going to order mine with the tonneau cover until I saw the video of the black Evo built Gladiator on [Banned Site]’s YouTube channel. It’s the video when they took the Gladiator out for the first time when it was still stock. One scene where the Gladiator is moving pretty fast and the side view shows the side edges of the cover flapping like a limp fish. I can imagine how much looser it will get over time as it stretches some. So I’m not getting one from the factory now. If I get one, I’ll get a tri fold one like an earlier post showed.

Here is the video I was referring to. He explains on the fb thread that after push down on that spot once closed it will click and be locked. He posted a video but I can’t upload it here because of file type.

I can vouch for this. Local dealer had one on theirs. With tail gate up couldn’t get it to fold, at least without tearing anything up. I wasn’t about to force it. It makes a very noticeable click once it’s locked correctly.

Also I noticed it was a very tight fit to where it locks into. If people are having issues with them locking, might need some adjusting of some type.

halfway through our 3000 mile road trip, all highway, with speeds above 70mph...no flapping at all...none......still looks new and tight. Score one for Jeep! Loving the soft tonneau cover!

I pushed it, pushed it real good, didn't find any magical button..... =(. But I did happen to break into top number 2 at the dealer, batting 1000! Fingertips of might Steffen they call me!

I came across this video AFTER I got my tri-fold soft cover installed. I find it extremely quick to open and latch the tri-fold cover, however the big difference outlined in this video is if you want FULL access to the bed and therefore have to remove the tri-fold cover completely (via unscrewing the unit) versus with the rolling cover you just roll it up all the way. You just have to think about how much bed you need access to and how often you will need to remove the cover completely.

So far I'm 100% happy with the tri-fold. It's easy to open and close, it can't be opened with the tailgate locked and it hasn't let any water in to date.

Loving my soft roll up! Just got back from a 1500 mile family trip, kept contents high and dry, rolls up in seconds, ties up when roll up, no flapping on highway, no issues clicking to lock at all since day one, no theft issues....

so you found the magic spot to push to lock it? is it a little button the size of a pen cap? I felt something like that at the dealer, but it wouldn't click/lock. bestop seems to be avoiding the topic.
