Got this response from them when I inquired.I just came across this:

Interesting options... No idea on pricing. But lots of good ideas.
That's exactly right. They have a water tank built in AND a large drawer that can come out of the back. HOWEVER, you do lose vertical space - like if you wanted to help your friends move... you can't put furniture in there.i'm confused by these canopies. It seems to me like they only utilize the space in front of, behind of, or above the tires. A normal truck box also utilizes the space between the wheels. Do these canopies have water/fuel bladders there, or huge slide out drawers from the back? It seems like there is lots of wasted space.
I must be missing something.

Thank you, this photo explains it. I didn't think the canopy companies would waste that space. That's exactly right. They have a water tank built in AND a large drawer that can come out of the back. I agree. I can't afford a canopy, but i can piece some stuff together, but i'm making a psudo canopy/topper thingy and was just curious how the canopy utilizes space. For me I can't justify the expense of replacing the bed. I feel that it is limiting functionality. I would rather spend it on a custom top that gives me a lot more options. Plus from a resale point of view not as many are going to want a configuration of a tray bed. Just my 2 cents.
yea, this is what i'm battling. there is some lost functionality... but is it functionality that I would use?For me I can't justify the expense of replacing the bed. Yup, you got that right . . . 1st thing many don't think about, but should, is that ADDED WEIGHT, and what will be required to correct for it - $$$$, ouch ! That why it helps to win a "scratch off or two, or a Mega Jackpot Lotto !Oh and those canopies will require an instant suspension upgrade... it’s like roughly 700 extra lbs...
Good excuse for air suspension![]()
AND a better insulator verses any metal framing . Add some pink or blue foam insulation wrapped in THIN "ply" (for Stephen's sake) and I could go for that too !Here we go. 2x4 rated.
