I finally picked up my Sport S MT this past Thursday. Luck be have it my wife had our twin girls the next day so the timing to pick it up couldn’t have been better. Haha

Just a couple things I wish I had ordered: bigger screen with Apple CarPlay. Although not a big deal but the integration with Apple is great. Can I upgrade the screen eventually?

For the manual transmission: after not driving a manual for 4 years, it took me a day to get used to driving a manual. I see how people say you can’t tell the “catch” of when the gear engages. After driving it though, it became second nature again. Overall I’m loving it!

Well, I don't think it's sinister directly related to me. More like someone's using creative accounting to further their own ends. It might not be of course, it could be completely innocent but equally screwed up.

Just a matter of the how of you being right. They've taken the calculated risk that they're likely to alienate some customers and lose them with the thought that whatever efficiency they've gained will outweigh it. Conceivably accurately so.

I'm just going to make them right. I'd hate to disappoint them and buy one anyways.

All of this is moot given a very simple thing... get my truck in production next week. I'll be simply unhappy with how I was treated and on a timeline to maybe have enough time to take the roof off this year a day or two. It's the best I can hope for now.

If not, in a couple weeks I'll be tooling around in a big ass 450hp Raptor with a large sunroof, disappointed to not be shifting gears but doing everything I wanted to do with a sort of open roof and loving that horsepower. I'll get by. ;)
I gave up on my manual order and went and bought a new 19 Raptor instead and I couldn’t be happier. It’s in a whole different league.

Not in the league of a Raptor, but I just test drove a Rebel yesterday. I am now reconciling buying the Rebel for significantly less than my Gladiator and just keeping my JK sport that was going to be part of my trade-in. That would give me a V8 with some off-road bonafides, the ability to tow real loads, all while keeping my 2-door Wrangler to hit legit trails on.

I like the Rebel, it’s a very good looking truck. Locking rear diff, Hemi power, and now even has a diesel option. Can’t go wrong with that decision.

Black out the key hole in the door, and the lug nuts and it'll look like a Stealth bomber... And you are right, she is sexy.
I'm going to do that. Thanks I never even noticed that lol

I'm hoping, if the stars are aligned just right, to wrap my Sting Gray in @XPEL matte wrap. That would look killer on your black JT as well.

For a second I got my hopes up that you actually received a body color fender and top manual but then realized it's a LE.

Well, I told my dealer to cancel my order this morning after last weeks "C" status regression and confirmation of it this morning with FCA Chat. Their giving me the run around and haven't said it can or can't be cancelled (which I know better from the group). I asked them to do a locate on currently available Gladiators with my build requirements MINUS the M/T. There are 3-4 of them available within a reasonable driving distance, so we'll see if they can finagle a trade (they know damn well i'll drive to the dealer and buy it direct).

Now to bite the bullet. I own a JKUR with a 6-speed M/T and I love it on a daily basis, but it is an absolute DOG when towing. I've stated this a few times before when others have asked about the Gladiators ability to tow with a M/T. With the Gladiators 5th gear being the same as the old 6th gear, basically the same motor, a set of 35" tires and I see it being an even worse tow vehicle (in the M/T arrangement). I love being able to shift gears and have that "connection" with the vehicle/road, but at what cost? Honestly, if I were to get a M/T Gladiator and it towed the same (or worse) than my JKUR, i'd regret it, period. When it comes to spending this amount of money, the vehicle should be able to do everything I'd like it to, in reason, in a somewhat stock form (no engine swaps, etc). So I'm about to pull a Troutman and bail on the M/T, that is unless someone with a M/T Gladiator can tell me, from personal experience, that it pulls a trailer that weighs 2,000 to 3,000 lbs with NO issues in 5th or 6th gear, especially with a head wind.....
