When you take off the rear hard top the rubber feet get placed on the bottom corners (the part closest to the rear doors) of the top to protect it when placed on the ground.

Interesting. Still confusing. Because it doesn’t balance itself, so there are still some corners touching the ground... I think? When you take off the rear hard top the rubber feet get placed on the bottom corners (the part closest to the rear doors) of the top to protect it when placed on the ground.
Yes, but the front tabs are thin and need more protection so that is what those are for before you lay the front down on the ground, if you do!Interesting. Still confusing. Because it doesn’t balance itself, so there are still some corners touching the ground... I think?
Aha! ok. Got it. Good to know, the last time I did it I placed the whole thing on a dropcloth with some cardboard cushion underneath, and a 20lb propane tank holding up the frontYes, but the front tabs are thin and need more protection so that is what those are for before you lay the front down on the ground, if you do!

Can you post a pic of them in place? ThanksI have seen that they r supposed to protect the metal tabs on the roll bar after u remove the panels. Give it a try
I second this request, lmao. Can you post a pic of them in place? Thanks
The mystery continues. So after reading a few posts on this and finding that no one has either posted pictures or a video on these hard top edge protectors I went ahead and toke two pictures of where I believe they go. The manual clearly states though that these two rubber items are for the hardtop part and not the freedom panels even though they are stored in the front of the freedom panel storage bag. I might actually do a video on this very soon seeing no one has done one. In the mean time I think they go in one of these two spots once the hardtop is completely removed and stored on the ground. Because I didn't take the hardtop off for these pictures just imagine the rubber pieces sitting under the hardtop parts where I have them placed. Hopefully this helps everyone and maybe someone will get to showing it before I do.

It's definitely for one of the two places. I just edited my post though to mention the two spots in the manual that state what they are for. I find it hard to believe Jeep didn't take at least one picture showing it though. Shame on them. The mystery continues.
so they can work in either of those spots? It's definitely for one of the two places. I just edited my post though to mention the two spots in the manual that state what they are for. I find it hard to believe Jeep didn't take at least one picture showing it though. Shame on them.
Once I get the hardtop off I'll verify both spots, but I think it depends on how you have it laying on the floor. Stay tuned.so they can work in either of those spots?
oh neat, a tilt function!IMO they go on the front corner of the bottom lip of the top. Once installed, they protect the edge from getting beat up if u let ur top tilt forward or the actually slide well on PLYWOOD if u need to move the top once it is in the shed. Also protects corners if u use a shopvac to hold the top flat and not tilt it forward.

Great job getting photos of it. I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but I would agree with how you have them. Pretty awesome on the tilt function, I can so seeing the value in that feature.IMO they go on the front corner of the bottom lip of the top. Thanks for the pictures. I even asked Jeep, and there person couldn't answer me. I went to the dealer and the dumb s### salesman I asked said it was for the freedom panels but couldn't show me where they snapped in, because I was fairly confident that the molded part fit something.IMO they go on the front corner of the bottom lip of the top.
