Have seen discussions where some chose not to go with Adaptive Cruise due to amount of window space it takes up.
Some questioned the sensitivity, making it more of a pain to have.

I am trying to decide if I add it today or not.

Did you add it to your Gladiator?

I drove one with it, and I didn’t care for the additional nanny. I will say I didn’t notice the physical box was there while driving, only the beeping if I got to close to someone while they were turning for example.

I did not get the option.

That's FCW not ACC.

ACC is like air-conditioning or power windows or power door locks. Once you use ACC you'll never go back.

Right, but to get ACC, you must have FCW unless I’m mistaken. I’m sure it could be turned off.
You are correct. You can turn off FCW in the menu screen.

I avoid safety junk and I wish FCA didn't even offer it. The more electronic our vehicles become, the more stupid humans become.

Here's a small clip from an article explaining why driving is becoming more dangerous every year now:

Driving instructor Shaun de Jager, who has been teaching road safety and advanced driver training in the Toronto area for more than a decade, doesn’t mince words when asked what he thinks about the many driver assist features that have emerged on the automotive scene in the last decade.

“The new technologies are making drivers worse,” he says.

“They’re making (drivers) more complacent because they are drinking the marketing Kool-Aid about the safety features. They’re told, ‘Your car can do this, your car can do that, so if you miss something, the car will do it for you.’ Some drivers think they’re being told they have nothing to fear and so they stop respecting the road. All the technology is taking the respect away.”

Love the 'safety junk' comment. You do realize this technology is far smarter and faster than you? Darwin Award candidate here at some point.

I drove both. I’m getting ACC. If it saves you from just one minor fender bender it pays for itself and my insurance told me I get an 8% discount for having it

Plus my other car is a Tesla and it virtually drives itself. In fact I’d say it drives better than 75% of people on the road

An anti technology stance from a youtuber seems odd to me.

Congrats! The most asinine comment EVER in this forum! First place, blue ribbon, etc. 2 of your 3 brain cells are fighting with one another.

I think all the safety options available on the JT are worthwhile and certainly easy to live with as you see fit. They do make a difference in insurance costs. Although my loaded Rubi is the most expensive vehicle I have ever owned I think it was the most inexpensive to provide full coverage on. ACC works very well.

Curious if any of you have had the same experience with it that I have. The first couple of weeks it was braking really hard anytime someone pulled in front of me. It seems to have learned (or maybe I'm just used to it) and it doesn't brake as hard now. Is there a learning function similar to the transmission?
