Checked on the mirror and the area above with no joy . Am I missing something?
Not sure what you are looking for. What did you expect to find on the mirror or above the mirror?

A uconnect /sos button? Or is there an indication of connection?

You are thinking of UConnect access. I don't believe the 5 inch touchscreen has this capability. You pretty much are limited to pairing your phone and streaming audio thru bluetooth and voice text reply. The 8.4 inch touchscreen gives you the SOS button you are looking for.

Aye jeep.com answers as well
Hi Mike,
Thanks for providing this. We have looked into your sales codes, and because of the infotainment system you have, you do not have connected serviced available. Is this what you are referring to?

Uconnect basically refers to the radio, to put it in simple terms. The uconnect 3 is the standard 5 inch screen. No Apple carplay, android auto or nav. On the sruface Uconnect kinda sounds like Onstar, but it isnt. It's a very basic bluetooth connected stereo.

If you can spring for the 7 inch on the sport s do it. Sad thing is that it forces you into other packages like cold weather that add massive cost.

I feel like Jeep really failed here. XM should be standard in these. I have ranted before... I can live with the smaller touch screen... but to have a touch screen and no XM on a 2020 is ridiculous. Especially when some have it and some don’t. I have the cold weather package as well.. heated steering wheel... heated seats... auto start... but no XM. All of them should come with it standard... i have had it in my previous wranglers and really stepped down from my F-150 apple car play. I didn’t even think to ask or to add it on my gladiator. It’s a 2020 vehicle. One shouldnt have to think about that honestly.. The cheap foreign cars have it. No reason it shouldn’t be standard on Jeep. They really need to come out with an update.

Do you know if the Navigation can be added for an additional cost to the 7" screen - or do you need the SOS button on the mirror for connectivity?
I had a 2015 Challenger that had the smaller screen but I added navigation later for $500 and it worked just fine.
