Hey all,
Got me Gladiator 1 week ago and slowly been learning all it's functions. Love it except for this...
Curious if anyone has had issues/thinks the apple car play gps function sucks like i do?
It seems like it should have more volume adjustments. I've read online and think i'm doing everything I can.

The volume is not always as loud as I want. I adjust the GPS volume when they are speaking directions like i'm suppose to, but it maxes out at "25". That would be fine if the radio would mute completely when directions are being spoken but the radio volume just gets lower and then I sometimes don't hear the directions. Also, it seems it only comes out of one speaker, again there should be a setting where the music/talk/whatever stops and then the directions play on "all" speakers??!!

Any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks!

I use Carplay everyday with GPS (typically Waze). For Waze, there is a setting inside the Waze app for how loud the directions/alerts are. I haven't messed around with the other GPS platforms to confirm but assume there are settings there as well. Have a look at the gps app on your phone and see if there is an adjustment there. Not sure about the all speakers vs one as I haven't really noticed that one. Good Luck. MH

Google Maps offers different levels of volume adjustment for the spoken directions. You can amp that up to help out.

i'm starting to think something is wrong with my radio.
I tried multiple GPS apps, waze/google/etc and adjusted volume in app to max if had that option and no change.
My max radio volume goes up to 38 i believe, but when adjusting sound for map directions, that max is 25 for some reason.
Called uconnect and they were no help.

What do you typically listen to , meaning loud music or quiet talk etc.
If talk, the low GPS volume is prob not an issue.
It's when I am jamming out and have music pretty loud, say level 35.
That's when it is an issue because music volume is at 35 and the GPS only comes across at level 25, with the music still playing on all but one speaker. The only thing it does, is make the music a little quieter when announcing directions, maybe 20% and that really doesn't help much. If there was an option to pause music completely when directions announced that would be another good option.

Hi Tom,
If you believe your Apple CarPlay is not operating as designed, we recommend visiting your preferred dealer to have this looked into further. If needed, please send our team a private message. We would be happy to offer additional support.
