The news out now is the 3.0 will have an 18 gallon tank and the dpf tank is behind the rear axle on the left rear side of the vehicle carrying 5 gallons good for 10,000miles.

Any updates on bigger/aux fuel tanks??
I think anything less than 600 mi range will be disappointing for me, I can get 700-750 out of my 3.0 GC right now.

Actually, I have an update!
Swapped emails with Ward Harris, a NA dealer for Long Range America tanks, and he says they have installed a JL aux tank into a JT with success, are in the middle of doing 2 more & are tweaking brackets/Etc to improve the application. He says they will have an official kit for the JT ready for market in April. 17 additional gallons in tank installed on opposite side of driveshaft.
He also says he has 'every confidence' that they will have a kit for the diesel as soon as they can get their hands on one-

I found an in bed tank that is 17 high 29.5 wide and 7 deep. Loosing 7in of bed space for 17 gallons isn't bad when you consider the price is only 140. Bucks for the tank.

Anyone have info on what it would take to plumb this in?

I'm actually debating just mounting it and using my onboard air to push the fuel out a hose and into the main fuel neck. Not as convenient as a tank that fills like the factory one but for the price it's pretty awesome option I think.

If I had an in-bed tank I’d like to fill it & have it drain/fill right into the stock tank. But I doubt that the flex hose is made to be immersed in fuel 100% of the time? So that leaves you filling the 2 tanks separately & having a line tee into the oem fill line with a shutoff. To get there you would have to cut into the bed of course. Not ideal.
However the LRA tank is ‘spensive and has a transfer pump...but you don’t lose any cargo space.

Most the gravity feed setups I've seen T into the flex neck. Key to that setup I think would be taking the stock air vent up to the aux tank and then venting that above the new filler height. Put a locking cap on the main filler neck. Don't open the main neck if there is anything in the aux tank. Shutoff valve in-between the two tanks and you're good.

Other option is a electric shutoff valve between the two tanks. When tank A is low open the valve and watch for it to fill the main

So I'm almost positive I'm going with an in bed tank. Unless I can find a cheap under bed version that'll fit. I can get the tank for $130
It measures 17H 30L and 7W
A decent transfer pump is like 20-30 bucks. I can add a fuel gauge if I want to later. ( Tank has a sending unit built in).
Current plan is to use an aux switch set to off with the ignition and no memory (doesn't turn on again with key cycle) might prevent it running dry often.

Any issues with this setup. Adding a fuel gauge for the aux tank is a concern as I don't really want to cut the dash.

Fantastic news!
Please keep updating this thread.
I’ll be looking into getting one as soon as I’m sure it will work. 17 additional gallons should be good for 200 additional miles or so.
