I am randomly getting a momentary scrambling in my screen while using CarPlay. Audio is not effected, and it lasts less than a second. It is enough that I catch it out of the corner of my eye if I am not looking at the screen and if I do happen to be watching the screen when it happens it is obvious. Has anyone else experienced this? I am using an Apple lightning cable in the center console USB. I may play around with different cables and try the other USB port, but I wanted to throw it out and see if anyone else had seen a similar thing.

Plenty of people have. Search for threads on it, dealership needs to fix it.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

the only other thread I could find was about the small screen with the speedo. Mine is the 7.4” screen. Can you link any of the others that you’ve seen?

Do you mean 7.0" or 8.4" screen?

Mine is the 7.0" and I get the same problem. Looks like a momentary loss of video signal that lasts about a blink of an eye. Happens every time I get in the Jeep and multiple times throughout each trip. Just as you, no loss of audio, it is only affecting the screen display.

I am using an Apple cable in the USB 1 slot with an iPhone 8 on the latest iOS. That said, it has done it since I got the Jeep last October with multiple iOS updates in between.

Yes, sorry, 7.0. And that is exactly what I have seen. Have you talked to a dealer about it yet? It hasn’t bothered me enough yet, I only have about 300 miles on my JT.

Not yet. I had brought in the Jeep for some other outstanding issues a couple months back and forgot to bring it up. I'm due for an oil change soon (I'm at about 5800 miles) and and this is one of the items on my list when I bring it up there. Taking the Jeep on a trip this weekend, so hopefully pretty soon thereafter. It's a bit of a pain for me as my local dealer is terrible, so I need to go to a different state a bit over an hour to get any warranty items taken care of. That's why I'm glued to the forum to get info as best I can before heading in.

Hi i recently bought a 2020 jeep wrangler JL about a month and a half ago and have been having this same exact issue 2 weeks into having my new car. Took it to the dealer twice and still getting the run around of them not knowing what is causing this. I was able to catch it on video too and i am taking it to the dealer AGAIN this weekend to try to get some actual answers. I have tried pretty much everything from using official USB apple cables, even with my Iphone 11 pro max USB-C cord, to even plugging in other iphones - through all of this i still have the same issue! I know it is not my phone because i have a Honda with apple Carplay too and there are no issues AT ALL when my phone is plugged in whether it's an official Apple cord or not.

Have you been able to find an answer to this problem yet? Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

I posted about this months ago and have taken it in to the dealer twice and they are not interested in fixing it. I’ve tried everything and it glitches everyday with different cables, USB ports and phones. It’s mostly visible when using CarPlay maps for me. If you search for “CarPlay map display glitching“ you we’ll see the thread and some video of the problem.

Same issue for me in my new 2020 Gladiator. If I am using Android Auto for my map or music, etc it's fine, but as soon as I unplug my phone to go back to siriusXM the music is there, but the screen randomly flickers and I cannot change anything on the screen. Hitting a saved channel at the top the station changes audibly, but visually it's glitched so you cant tell what station you are on. All touch functionality is lost and the only way to reboot the radio to get it to work is to pull over, turn off the Jeep, and let it sit for 30 sec to a minute then start the vehicle again. Forget the bugs, but how do you have basically a 7in tablet in your dash and not have a way to reboot it? Hitting the power button just puts it to sleep and does not fix anything. You have to physically turn the vehicle off and wait to turn it back on again.

My issue definitely isn't that serious. More of a minor annoyance than anything. I will say that I switched to the dash USB and it seems to be better. I would be at the dealership ASAP if mine was as buggy as yours. Best of luck man.

Dealer said it's a compatibility issue between the uconnect 7in software and Android 10 software. Apparently the uconnect needs an update and there isnt one yet. That was their explanation so I guess until there is a uconnect update forget using android auto. At the rate we see updates on android vs never seeing uconnect updates I'm just going to plan on upgrading to the 8.4 eventually I guess.

Wow. That is hard to stomach. Having carplay/android auto was the sole reason I wanted the 7" upgrade. If I couldn't use it I would be pretty salty. Hopefully FCA makes it right soon. I wonder if @JeepCares has any insight on a forthcoming update?

I will say that I did clear the cache and delete the data within the android app on my Note9 and everything worked fine the last time I used it so perhaps that made a difference IDK. Will see. But with my luck it will decide to glitch on the interstate when I cant shut the truck off to reset it. There already aftermarket options but they are pricey. I just want to be able to use my maps and stream music.
