You can buy the Mopar remote start kit for $290.00. It comes with 2 new keys. They have to be flashed at dealer but hell of a lot cheaper than the high prices I have seen on this site for new keys

As I've seen people post a hell of a range of prices that they've said they got from their dealer and sales folks - I wonder - do their dealers guess, look 'em up, pull it out of thin air, try to scare people out of buying, guess based on the last one sold or what? I mean I was told "3xx" and then another person said their dealer says 2-something and for my wife's GC she was told over 300 - so how can that be when the Grand Cherokee is a heck of a different beast from the JT fob - and the price she was told was from like 3 years ago?
What gives? These dealers making numbers up or what? They can't ALL be correct?
As far as how many - one dealer told me "2" for my 2004 Grand Cherokee and I went and was standing in the shop looking at his face when the guy told me - then he said I HAD TO HAVE a WORKING original - I said not possible - my father was killed with the last known original in his pocket - a number of, uh, well, body fluids got into it and well, sort of messed it up - he was welcome to try to work on it...... I left there. Then a guy at a lock and safe company said BS to that, said bring along what I had and he'd set me up. I had 2 I ordered from the internet and 2 from a 2003 we used to own. He programmed all four of them in in under 3 minutes - no need for an original. The DEALER was wrong - the guy who sold safes and locks knew more! He used 2 from our old 2003 and 2 I bought from the web. (the original, well, in a plastic bag stowed away)
