Anyone else get a ton of dust in the bed when driving dirt roads etc?

I have a JT Rubicon, no bedliner other than smartliner mat and weathertech tailgate liner, with an access literider tonneau. I have added additional weather-stripping to the bulkhead area of the tonneau including covering the 2 factory holes in the top outer corners of the front of bed, also weather-stripped the tailgate and water tested through carwash and rain with no leaks. Still getting a ton of dust in the bed.

Only other thing I can think to try is closing off the holes where the rear bed tie downs are located.

Anyone else have this happen/ find a resolution? Certainly not a big deal but no other truck I've owned has pulled this much dust into the bed.

Yes, I know what you mean. I have the Rugged Ridge Armis folding tonneau cover, line-x bedliner, and molle panels with quik fist supporting all my gear. I still get fine dust in the back of the bed from 4wheeling. Just the back 1 foot or so of the bed. I just use my air compressor or my masterblaster to blow it out from the back of the bed when I get back. It is only very fine dust that can get in, so, it seems very easy to blow out. I have no idea how it gets in, but, I do not think it is coming in from the tonneau cover...

Something like this looks like a good option. There are lots of different products that fit the bill with a google search of "tailgate gap filler" Cheers!

I already have the smartliner as well as weathertech tailgate liner installed- still full of dust.
I have noticed it as well. I think the solution I posted earlier tailgate gap filler, would also stop the dust from coming up into the bed from the open gap.. Cheers!

Keep us posted. I almost feel I get more dust with cover on, then just leaving the bed open.

I bought this for my Ram many years ago, but never got around to installing it. If I figure out what I did with it, I'll probably put it on my Jeep.

I definitely had that experience on my trip after picking up my Gladiator a year ago. I went through numerous storms and just areas where it rained, never had any water in the bed. But, for instance, when I drove the haul road from Fairbanks up to Deadhorse, and back, I had a TON of dust in the bed! Since the bed was full of gear I had to take everything out, beat the dust off or out of everything, and completely rinse the bed out.

I had some smaller amounts of dust on other parts of the trip, but nothing like that time.

I received the Gapshield from Ecoological. I am very happy with it. Great directions and packaging. Very simple and effective design. I installed it in blazing heat, which was perfect temperature for installation... It has a reactive agent that you rub on the Line-X, then, peel off the backing and stick on. It adhered perfectly, and it functions just as designed... I have not gone off road yet, but, I am very optimistic about this solution.

Went offroading in a super dusty area and the bed had a 4-6" line of dust with a tonneau cover. I think it is getting sucked up from the bottom of the tailgate

@hjdca So you’ve had it a year now. How would you rate it? I’m getting tired of cleaning dust out of the bed, but I also like the functionality of keeping crap in the bed from getting in the space between the bed and the tailgate.
