I thought about installing it on the console between the t-case and trans shifter, but running the data cable would have been tougher. Also considered the panel below the headlight switch. But in the end, the area below the push to start button seemed to be the easiest.

Yesterday I had a call on my answering machine from REDARC in Australia asking me how I liked the brake controller. Refered to me as "Mate". I emailed them back and ended up having a back and forth conversation with Todd Simpson Customer Service Technician who was the one that called me. He said he had helped someone from on this forum with a problem. I told him you were going to make a video and that I would send him the link to it.
By the way, it looked cold there as you did the install, I was sweating when I did mine last summer.

That's awesome. Visiting Australia is on my bucket list before I die.

Yeah, it was 10°F here yesterday morning but it warmed up above freezing in the afternoon and there's rain/snow coming this way soon so I decided to go ahead and try to get the job done.

Well, since the Aussies may read this, I just want to also say that the Redarc instruction manual is awesome. Americans should take notes. It's well written, has good diagrams, and isn't unnecessarily lengthy. Very nice. So far, seems like a great product that's well thought-out and planned. They even used a standard RJ45 connection between the main unit and remote head, so if a guy needed to you could mount the control knob anywhere you possibly wanted with a longer cord.

I have boxes of certified CAT5e and 6 cables plus the tools and ends and test equipment so i could make any length cable I wanted, even shielded.

I noted this on the other thread, but I'll note it here as well. I tested again today by pressing the control knob without a trailer connected, and nothing weird happened. I turned the dial up and down, and nothing weird happened. So, I guess whatever made my initial start-up with the Tow Pro wacky must have been a one-time issue. Everything seems to be working normally now.

Perhaps it's because I was moving the main unit around while it was all still plugged in as I was searching for an orientation that wouldn't interfere with the trim panel? Perhaps I touched a ground while I was up under the dash trying to zip tie wires? Who knows but something caused the dash to go haywire and the issue hasn't returned since then.

I saw another video that the guys used the adaptor cable TPH-001 (Cherokee) when installing thiers.
They did not have to swap the blue and black wires, just plug and play.

Anyone have any info on this?

It looks like it is a true jeep one for more than the cherokee they really need to update the description. Redarc support actually sent me that video and stated that part number. I had already ordered the ram one though.

the only thing you would want to verify is if it has the diode in the red wire like the Ram (TPH-020) does. I know some of the other Cherokee harnesses (mainly Tekonsha 3014) don't have the diode, and it causes issues when you activate the manual brakes on the trailer. If ti has the diode, and it plug and play then it would be an even better solution.
