I got the Sport S, but I'd like to add some light bars etc in the future. Since the Sport S doesn't have the factory installed AUX switches, can I order the part and install them after the fact? Anyone know the part numbers I would need?

Yes. It’s not hard to install, with patience. Going through the firewall is a huge PITA. They won’t work without a flash or recal. I installed a set on my sport S, and like them.

You will also need a JScan or Tazer or take it to the dealership to get them to flash the computer to recognize the switches.
Remember back in the day when you could just hook stuff up and it didn't require you placing your balls in the vice grip of the dealership? Good times, good times.

Yep, that's why I bought a JScan, they want $100 to flash for tires. Pretty much $100 for every flash they have to do. $90 for a JScan and it can do everything they can do.

I know absolutely nothing about programmers, but that certainly looks very interesting to me.....

They’re worth it. They just plug into the obd2 port and you can change parameters of the Jeep. Most are extremely user friendly.

Yep, and as @Bonanza said you don't have to know much to use them. I know very little about them but they are pretty much self explanatory. It walks you through what to do so it's hard to not do it right.

I just had the dealership put in my aux switches which were part of the deal in the purchase of my truck since it didn't come from the Factory with them. It took them about 4 hours to install the switches and I talked to the tech. He said there was an issue once got past the firewall that made things a pain. But they are in now and while they did the flash I could have done it with my Tazer. They also swapped out my stock tires for Rubi take offs and said there was no need to make any changes with the larger size tires. But I went ahead and made the change using the Tazer just in case

The beauty of CAN bus.....
I see it more as a hairy mole. You can dress it up, but it's still a mess.
I don't think it's quite as bad on the JT as the JKs were. I found that I didn't have to use the JScan to program for the led turn signals or the led taillights when I installed them. I don't know if it's because it already has Led interior and tag lights or not. I know my JK would hyperflash like crazy without resistors

My concern with plugging in external programmers is the computer logs the entry, so when you go to the dealership they can see and say you modded the computer programming, which can be argued voids some part of the warranty. Now, will they win? Yah, probably, they have more money to throw at it and set an example than I do. They wouldn't even do work on my TPMS system not working because the sensors had different serial numbers from the ones the Jeep came with (I was running takeoffs from another JT)

definitely!

But.....if you get it figured out, it's pretty cool what you can do with it.
