Mine has to held in too
I must hold down mine as well. A minor nuisance, but one that I find no logic for.

My guess is that it's due to the clutch needing to be pushed in as a safety mechanism. I'm guessing they couldn't figure out how to make it safe enough.

Althoguh you would think if the clutch pedal is pushed in, and then it's not, that it could stop the power from going to the starter ??

I'm currently finalizing a deal on a manual gladiator and I noticed this as well.

Is it possible to get a supercharger for the manual trans or are they only for autos? I think that might be the way I'm heading in 3 years when I warranty is up.
I've seen a few Manual JL with the Magnuson Charger. My concern is will the Trans handle the torque created ?
Haven't really found and solid answers on what they can really handel.

I hear ya, last time I searched for that info I came up with 350ftlbs of tq. Is what the manual trans can handle.

What ive seen on Aisin site is 370 NM which converts to to roughly 275 Ft Lbs.
I'm hopeful that's incorrect.

I’m guessing the AL6 is what we have to go from. Not sure if it’s the same. Can’t find where I saw the 350. But the 270 is barely over stock seems a little weird. Enh. Let me know if you find something else.

This was the last time I did a deep dive down a rabbit hole on this topic, different thread.

350 TQ looks like the right number for the manual. This what I found.

Either engine option can come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The eight-speed automatic is a Chrysler made variant of the 8HP50. This is the third generation of these transmissions, which are primarily used in BMWs, Alfa Romeos, and Rolls Royces. It has a max torque rating of 500 lb-ft.

The manual transmission is an Aisin D478, and it is only paired with the Pentastar engine. The Aisin is a great transmission that’s getting rave reviews for its shorter throws and notchy feel. This is a new transmission, but it would appear that the closest transmission on the manufacturer’s website is given with a torque rating of 345 lb-ft.

I have a small issue and im not sure if it is my particular car or a broader issue with 6-Speed Gladiators.

When I am accelerating through 3rd gear, somewhere around 2700-2800 RPM, the jeep 'jumps' a little every single time. its almost like the gear slips a little. Does anyone else have this issue?

(I have a Sport S with 3.73 rear end)

Thanks all!

Mine does the same, some folks have attributed it to a variable valve timing change.

Thanks @KAT$JT and @AustinL911 for the responses. The variable valve timing change makes sense. it doesn't seem like rev hang because of the consistency and because it happens even without switching gears.

If others aren't experiencing it, have you thought about taking it into jeep for service under warranty @KAT$JT?

thanks again
